Breakaway Insulator Jacket - Men's

From fall to spring, the Spyder Breakaway Insulator Jacket provides light, low-bulk warmth to freeriders, racers, and all-mountain enthusiasts. This Thinsulate-insulated jacket can slide under a relaxed shell for insanely cold days, but it’s more likely that you’ll grab the Breakaway for the ride to and from the mountain, due to its relaxed, hoody-like look and fit. Multiple pockets, a drawcord hem, and adjustable cuffs add extra function to this weather-resistant warmup.

Bottom Line: A thermos of cocoa weighs more and gets cold.

I like this jacket for my mid-layer under my shell. The lack of chin cuff makes it perfect for a non-bulky feel. Functional wise, it's a home run. And i wear it as a 'out on the town' jacket as well.

i'm stoked!!

well not really, who talks like that. i got the hurricane xl and it is a very sweet looking jacket, could use it on the slope and on the town. i'm 6'4" and 290, and it fit well. i'm more on the julius peppers carolina panthers kind of build than a jared pre-subway kind of build. my only complaint is its a little snug in the arms, but i can live with it. jacket stops a couple inches below my waist, but thats normal for being 6'4". so the sizes are generous so pick accordingly, if there's any of these jackets left. the interior and exterior of the jacket has a silky, cool feel to it and i'm down with that. i plan on using this on dry pow days as i've been told it can shed a mist, but can't handle a downpour. all in all a sweet jacket.

I don't believe that Spyder even makes this jacket in an XS so it's not possible. Bummer!

Spyder Breakaway Insulator Jacket

I brought the jacket for my son. The first time he wore it, he said it was the best jacket he ever owned. He's a football nut and he said it was perfect to wear at the games, because it was light weight, comfortable and warm. He's a believer in Backcountry wear now! Mrs. D

Great Jacket

By:

I was looking for a mid-weight stylish jacket, and this jacket does that for me. The jacket is not too hot, but it definitely is enought to keep me warm walking around campus. One drawback is that there just aren't many pockets, but other than that, this jacket is nice.

Great Coat

Best coat that I have bought in awhile. Already use the North Face Aconcagua and Polo down coats. Compared to them this is very light weight, but keeps you warm. Also, like putting up hood without having to reread the instructions on how to put hood back without all of the lumps in your backside.

Would recommend to either gender.

awesome coat!

Totally steezy coat for ripping on days like today. I just got off the hill about 15 minutes ago and I rocked the Breakaway for the first time today. looks good and works as a great insulation layer. Today was sunny and about 30 so i wore the coat with a base layer and a fleece and it was perfect. pretty much water resistant and looks good. a rare good egg in the spyder line.
