Legendary for a reason.
They say legends never die, so it's no surprise the Spyder Bormio Men's Pant is back for another stylish, tough, and comfortable go-round. One of the centerpieces of Spyder's Legend Collection, the Bormio is at home on sunny Italian slopes and cold Rocky Mountain peaks alike, with an OSMO waterproof and breathable membrane, Spylon+ DWR coating, and fully taped seams to provide full protection from foul weather. Primaloft Silver insulation fights off the chill whether you're cruising through open powder fields or sipping a glass of wine outside the mid-mountain chalet, and the zippered inseam vents help you cool down if the spring sun gets warmer than you anticipated.
Keeping snow out is as important as staying dry, so Spyder outfitted the Bormio with a full suite of snow-blocking features, starting with Powderap gaiters, which interface with the power strap on your ski boots to form a snowproof barrier, and continuing with ankle zips and removable suspenders for increased coverage and comfort. The waistband is also adjustable, so you can leave the belt at home, and the legs are cut with an articulated pattern to make skiing, hiking, and sun-soaked relaxing that much more comfortable.

1st Insulated Ski Pants
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: large
I recently purchased the Spyder Bormio pants in Concept Blue, size large and have worn them for 10 ski days so far. I would have awarded them 5 stars were it not for the quality of the snaps at the waist and the fly zipper. My other ski pants were made by Arcteryx and Black Diamond and seem to be a couple of notches above Spyder in the area of snaps and zippers, but now for why I awarded 4 stars.
I love the fabric and the insulation. I've skied a couple of really cold days in Summit County and it's the 1st time I've been there on a cold January day and not noticed that I was not the least bit cold. I've tried them out on my home Mountain, Arizona Snowbowl, in a variety of temperatures and wind conditions and what I notice is that I don't ever think about my comfort level regarding my legs or bottom. These pants breath so well that you don't over heat and you don't feel cold and I've already tested them in some of Snowbowls famous winds. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending these pants to a friend. This is my first ever pair of insulated ski pants and I'm sold. The fabric in these pants is great and the Primaloft Silver insulation is light weight and breathable. I hope Spyder beefs up the waist snaps and fly zippers on future editions.
