Flip down the Spy Zed Goggle w/Free Extra Lens and spot your tree line. Spy made the Zed with a tough Unibody frame for maximum durability that doesn't back down from giant booters or obstacle-laden chutes. Spy's Scoop ventilation system eliminates lens fogging all day long, as long as you take proper care of your goggles. Dual lenses with total UV protection, and an anti-fog and anti-scratch coating further enhance and protect your vision on the hill. Dual density face foam molds to your face better than a junior-high paper-maché mask and features moisture-wicking Dri-Force fleece. Dual-adjustment straps customize the Spy Zed Goggles' fit, and silicone ribbing secures to your headgear.
The two lenses work great, the persimmon is really nice for flat light days and isn't too dark for riding at night. The mirror lens blocks a good amount of light, great for the bright days, so they make for a solid combo.
The frame is a bit on the smaller side and the strap is a bit short, but not too much so. They fit fine with my size L Bern Baker. No fog issues, but I would like a little more peripheral vision, I have to look over my shoulder a little more than I would like. For 35 on WM, I really can't complain too much though.
These are the best goggles for the money at $62 especially with the second lens. These simply do not fog and are extremely comfortable, and fit almost any helmet well. They are medium to large sized. I ski hard and sweat a ton, and these are better than any scott, smith or oakley I have spent over $100 on. Buy em and you will not be sorry. Mirror lens for sunny days, persimmon for cloudy ones...I bought another set so I don't have to change the lens...It is not difficult, I just loved them...

I ordered both the Smith Prophecy and these and I think the Smith felt better on my face and fit to my helmet better so I returned these. I wouldnt want to have to switch the lenses very often because its not very easy...
The Zed is a pretty good goggle. Picked up a pair of white ones w/ gold mirror on WhiskeyMilitia. They are definitely more of a small/medium than a medium fit. Also, the strap is pretty short and just barely fits around the outside of my Baker helmet. That being said, they do look awesome and the metal inserts add some flavor. The silicon strip on the inside of the strap keeps it from sliding on helmets or hats. The venting is great and the microfleece backing feels great on my face. An all around good goggle for the money but just a bit small.
These are pretty tight. For the money, and the free lens you can't really go wrong. They look real sick. Everything is nice, except the peripheral vision and unfortunately they fogged up on me pretty good. For So Cal riders, no worries, but these couldn't handle a sick Tahoe dump sesh. I'm giving them to my girl and getting some nicer ones. When you think about it, Goggs are a pretty important piece of the set, so I'm down to pop for the expensive ones. Just sayin!
I have a pair of the Oakley Crowbars with the perimisson lense. I'm thinking about getting the black iridium replacement lense or these in the blurry martini. Do you have any better picture of the straps? Edit: Are the Blurry Martini a men's model? Do they have roses on the straps? I need a darker lense for sunny days. How are the quality of these lense compared to Oakley?
nope, what you see on the page is it...yes its a mens model, its just some phsycadellic pattern that looks pretty sick if you ask me. but from a techical standpoint oakley lenses are probably the most high quiality in the market...they are made out of optically correct plutonite, and are spherical (match the shape of your eye), both eliminate distortion almost compltley...the lenses on these are cindrical (flat), which means that your feild of vision will be warped at the sides
I got a pair from whiskey about 2 years ago and they still rip. The fit is a little weird with a G9 helmet, there is some pressure on the nose, but otherwise they are awesome. They never, i repeat, never fog with the silver mirror lens. However the free bonus lens fogged up the minute I put it in the goggle. Doesn't matter to me though cuz once I popped the other lens back on clear pastures for the whole day. I've even gotten them wet with snow on the inside and once the inside was blotted dry i was ok for the rest of the day. All in all, great goggles, and a large variety of lenses out there if you do want to swap.
The lenses are great and the design is awesome. My biggest problem with these was fit. They're definitely for a small/narrow face. Also these tend to fog up easily. I ended up switching to Oakleys because of fit but the Spys have superior lenses and feel like they are of better quality.
I got this gogle with mirror pink lens and in the faux denim look. First off, not the best looking gogle, but it on par with my spy blizzards that it replaced for function, comfort and fit.No issues fogging for the first 5 rides (so far) the rose mirror lens is AMAZING. Good in bright light, excellent in low light and even in a white out I had to lead the way out while my friends had yellow oakley wisdoms on and were fully blind. Helmet compatable with my Giro g9 helmet (no google gap :) )The only issue i had was with slight fogging up. This may be due to the fact I was done up for a -20 celcius day and it turned out to be around -5 but one good bomb at full speed, the gogle vents did their job and cleared up quickly.I would say these are worth every penny on Brociety or SAC and I would purchase again.... just not the "vibrant" colors ;)
These goggles are great if your standing still or needing to eat lunch with goggles on. If your like me and happen to find yourself travelling at high rates of speed on the mountain, throw these goggles away before you start to ride. The venting system is horrible and allow way to much air travel into the inner compartment.
This design flaw allows for a cyclone effect to occur inside of your eyeballs. It is an ocular catastrophe! I was crying every time I attempted to use these. It was not due to the awesome riding skills I was witnessing on the mountain either.
All in all this package is not worth the price. I would pay about 20$ for a cool pair of goggles to mug in thats about it. I gave them away after a few sessions on the mountain!
We bought 2 pairs of goggles. One wearer has a small narrow face and the other has an average size face. They fit perfectly, look great, and couldn't have performed better. We just came back from Alta, Utah and neither of us had the slightest complaint. Great purchase.
I would say a person with a large head shouldnt get there. Medium forsure. Anyways, the goggle is sick...expecially for $40. Nice size lense. The frame has some flex but feels soo strong too. I got a pink mirror lense...its mirrored enough that to see your eyes someone would have to look real close. At the same time, they arent completely mirrored. Ventalation looks nice too. Great goggle
Great goggles, picked them up for 30 with extra lens, although I received the wrong lens at first. The unreal Backcountry customer service cleared it up and sent me the correct lens pretty quickly. Only fogged on me a couple times, look bomb, everyone is jealous.
Great goggles, they work well and are great for the price! Solid construction beats my old goggles which broke at the frame. Good goggles for the price!
I am so pleased with these goggles, I have yet to have them fog up on me. I had $100 Bolle goggles before these and they fogged up after 10 minutes (on a good day). I was very hesitant to buy anything because I thought everything would just fog up on me. Not with these! The extra lens is great because it can be changed out. I have a small face and these are almost too big on me. Some reviews said these are too small but I disagree, unless you have a huge head, you cant go wrong with the zeds.
I bought these goggles for the '09 season since there was a great deal on whiskeymilitia. I couldn't be happier with them. They really are well made goggles. Granted, they did fog up on me twice but i was in -25 degree weather and it was sort of my own fault.
Other than that, I've already used these in different light conditions and they have performed well. They're really light in weight as well. You can barely feel them on you. If you're a fan of SPY Goggles, then you will definitely love these.
I think the Soldiers fit slightly better than the Zeds with a helmet, but these things look sweet and for the price (WM) you can't beat em, especially with the extra lens. As a note, the frame/lens on these is relatively inflexible, so the lens can crack pretty easily if you're not careful when you're transporting them. I generally prefer a frame like this so it's not really a complaint, just much different than my Dragons, which I could fold in half with no issues.
The two lenses work great, the persimmon is really nice for flat light days and isn't too dark for riding at night. The mirror lens blocks a good amount more...
