I bought these from S&C hoping to pick up a solid closed-toe sailboat racing shoe, but they just weren't up for the job. The little green nubs on the sole actually decrease the surface area in contact with the deck, making these shoes considerably slipperier on a non-skid deck than Five Fingers or Keen water shoes. That said, these are a solidly-designed comfortable water shoe that I wouldn't hesitate to take canoe camping or cruising sailing. But for sailboat racing, it's back to the Five Fingers for me.
