Kingston Peak Boot - Men's

Another six inches of snow fell overnight and you need some milk for breakfast. Lace up the Sorel Men's Kingston Peak Boot and enjoy a warm, dry trek to the grocery store. Seam-sealed leather uppers shrug off slushy puddles on the street, and the distressed finish gives the Kingstons a refined look. Cruise up slippery, frozen stairs with confidence thanks to the grippy vulcanized soles and, should the mercury totally bottom out, the toasty felt liners defend your feet from the freeze.

Bottom Line: Burly enough for a tough winter.

visually a great looking boot but...

i got these and sadly sent them back. in the photos they are perfect for what i wanted and looked great.
in real life they looked great too, so that was a bonus. the bummer was when i put them on, they were really flimsy feeling from the ankle up, almost like i was wearing a converse lowtop type of feel, just nothing there, even when laced up super tight. i wasn't looking for full on big pack boot support but was hoping for more than i would get on a pair of sandals. was a hard choice to send them back because they are a really amazing looking pair of boots in real life and really universal to use. not too sure how they could fix this personal issue of mine. i ended up going the total other way and got some Salomon Tundra WP's, they are super warm, waterproof, and very stable, just like my hiking boots from them. if you just want a waterproof boot to walk straight in, these are you for you :-)

Classic, well made boot

By:
February 16, 2011

After reading every review possible on this boot i decided to make the purchase. Didn't like the bulky look and fit of some of the other sorel models, but the kingston peak is different. Reminds me of an old school winter hiking boot with the full grain leather and distressed finish. Has a thin wool liner that starts at the top and runs half way to the ankle. Not gonna be the warmest winter boot but i added a nice pair of wool socks and was comfortable while shoveling snow in 20-30 degree weather. Got them just in time to use them in 2 east coast snow storms and they held up very well, keeping me warm and dry. Would recommend going with your normal sneaker size with this model. Overall i am very satisfied with the kingston peak and would recommend it to any one looking for a stylish, well made winter boot.

what would the suggested temp be for these? are they going to be way too hot indoors with the liner? if you were to take the wool out of them whats the fit like? would late spring temps be out of the question?

Incorrect size chart

By:
February 28, 2011

Nothing against the boot, but the sizing matrix provided is very incorrect. Ordered a US 11 and should have received an European 44 in accordance with size matrix but got a 45 1/3. The error is in the matrix! Obviously had to return at my own expense. Backcountry, this is not good enough.

Stylish and Functional

By:
December 27, 2010

I wanted one pair of boots that would keep my feet warm and dry during the winter, as well as stylish enough to wear out to a casual dinner. I got what I asked for with these boots.
I wear them nearly every day and they are very comfortable. They also have a nice low-profile so as to fit under skinny jeans.
Waterproof, comfy, and stylish. A good value in my book.

Do these run true-to-size? Or, large? Also, are they narrower

Do these run true-to-size? Or, large? Also, are they narrower then the Caribou, e.g., can you drive safely with them on?
