    Warm

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

I bought these Sorel Joan of Arctic Boots for my wife and she loves them. They're a regular staple here in Park City, and she swears by the comfort along with their warmth. The traction is solid, even on icy sidewalks.

Her advice is to lace the boot just under 3/4 of the way. That allows her to be able to slip the boot on and off without having to lace it up.

    Warm and Waterproof

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I got these for my wife, and my daughter got mad, so I had to get her some too. They are perfect for Utah's snowy, wet winters. They keep her feet completely dry and warm even in the deepest snow.

    Great for NYC winter

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

Got these for my sister who lives in NYC, she wanted a waterproof boot that still looked stylish and she loves these so far. She wears a size 9 in street shoes and got a 9 in these and they fit great.

    Hurray for Sorell boots!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I have wanted these boots for years, but was never willing to pay the price. This year was the year and I was not disappointed. We received 15” of snow on Christmas morning and the warmth of these boots was perfect to trek around to family throughout the day. The fit was a bit tight getting my foot into the boot because of high arches, but loosening the laces and working my foot in and out of the boot all day I could tell it was relaxing a bit. Once my foot was in the boot it was a great fit, not sloppy which I was afraid of. I wear a size 8 to 8 1/2, purchased the boot in size 8 and they were just right. Can’t wait to strap on the snow shoes!

    Wearing These Everyday

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 7.5

I bought these and was a little scared at first because I went down a 1/2 size. I am usually a 7.5 and chose a 7 and they fit perfect with both a big thick sock and a normal sock. Obviously with the smaller sock I have a little extra room and my feet slide around a little more but either way they are super comfortable. Not to mention freaking adorable! I literally want to wear them everyday and found myself wearing them around the house because of how comfortable and warm they are.

    Warm, stylish, but not perfect

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large

Overall, I really like these - my feet stay warm and dry, and they seem to have good traction on snow, slush, and ice. They are a bit clunkier and wider than I was anticipating, though - maybe to leave room for very thick socks. I can't seem to get them tight enough around the ankle, so my heels lift a bit when walking. I always wear an 8.5, and bought these in 8.5, so maybe they run a bit large. (Or maybe I need to get some very thick socks).

No lining or insole just a sock for 170?

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 9

I bought these boots last year. I really wanted to love them because they are so pretty. The first day I got them, they fit okay, so I took them out to walk to the bus in a blizzard. Big mistake. I had the same issue many have on here, where the back strip of leather bends when you walk and jabs you in the back of the ankle. I literally had a bruises and a blisters after wearing them on my half mile walk. Also, for this kind of money, you would think you'd get more than a boot shell with a felt sock in it for a liner. The boot is totally unfinished on the inside. Take a pair of boots, rip out the lining and insole, and put those boots on with a couple pair of thick socks, that's going to be how these feel. Due to this, you feel every edge and every grommet inside the boot. Also, this shoe has no insole? Never in my life have I bought footwear that has no insole. And not for almost $200! Literally one more layer of lining inside the boot so you don't feel all the hardware and edges on this boot isn't too much to ask. And an insole.
With the rubber absorbing the cold, and trapping in moisture, my feet have NEVER been warm in these.
A girlfriend of mine swears by these. She says she only laces them up using half of the lace holes. It takes some of the pressure off and it's less rubbing. She swears that they soften up after a while and they're great, but that still doesn't make them all that warm, and I've tried them with two pair of thick merino wool socks and they're still cold. And I'm sorry, but footwear without any insole of any kind is not a complete footwear. Footwear without any insole of any kind is not going to be comfortable to walk in.
I keep these in my closet as back up, since I stupidly wore them and couldn't return them. I bought two pairs of bearpaws for the same price as one pair of these boots and those were my go tos all last winter. Both pairs could be worn right out of the box, were good quality leather, were super comfy and had sheepskin lining from toe to top. A COMPLETELY MADE piece of footwear. One pair even goes up almost to my knees. Keen is a great brand too, I had a pair of winter boots from them that lasted me years. Still cheaper than these, and also a completely made piece of footwear.
I work hard for my money, and if I am going to shell out this kind of money, I expect the best tech specs. Not a half made boot, uninsulated, or even lined, with no insole. Sorel is making a killing- the cost for the rubber, suede, hardware and decorative faux fur at the top has to cost them next to nothing, and then they further cut costs by skipping the finishing and inserting a felt sock. These boots probably cost them about 20 bucks after assembly in China. But hey, you have a lot of money to spend, and you just wanna look cute getting out of your car to get groceries, go for it. If you actually need something warm that you can walk in, you could go to Walmart and get a better option.

too shallow of a toe box and tongue

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 8 (where a 7.5)

Liked the looks, but after getting them realized that while the picture online looks like there is a fuzzy warm front to the boot, once you get your foot and leg in, the entire front is open from just above the ankle to the top of the boot. So NOT deep snow boots like they are made to look. Toe box is shallow so that your toes feel smashed down on. Since its rubber I would not think this would change. However, I REALLY like how they fit otherwise. I love that there is no preformed arch support. Geeze, not everyone needs the same thing...and I do have foot issues. These I can put whatever support I want that fits my feet in them (were there more room in the toe). Thanks to Sorel from getting away from the narrow toe boxes ...nice and rounded and so there is room. Note, you do not want tight shoes in the cold, it makes your feet colder!!! Your feet need roominess. I wish the front had a tongue that had the furry stuff and was insulated. And a deeper toe box...this would be the perfect boot. I have had several Sorels in my life. I may try another style of theirs. Length and width were good on this boot. I did order a 1/2 size larger as I do in all boots.

Cute and warm, fit slightly off on leg

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 12 women's

My first pair of Sorels lasted me 10+ years- I still have them but I wanted to upgrade to a more stylish boot. I wear a size 12 wide or 13 regular women's size and had no choice but to order the size 12 women's, as that is the largest size they offer. I have had them for about a week and have worn them everyday so far. They fit just fine with one pair of medium thick socks. I tried them with two pairs of socks and they were quite snug but I could still get them on. So far they are warm enough that I don't need two pairs of socks.
They are a bit chunky and heavy but definitely very cute and warm! The only gripe I have with them so far is that they sit on the back of my leg weird- not necessarily uncomfortably- but they feel a bit funny. From just under my calves to the back of my ankle there seems to be a gap/ extra space in the boot. I hope this doesn't make the boot wear weird or develop a crease in this area. I realize this is probably because they are a tall boot. Maybe I just have huge calves. They feel to me somewhat like snowboarding boots, when walking; not quite as stiff but they have a way of locking your ankle into place.
I still am satisfied with these boots and will continue to wear them!

    Almost great

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: Runs small

I bought these for my wife. I think the boot is good but she has sizing issues with Sorels. They are comfortable, stylish, and warm but the fit is just not quite there. Short in length yet heel still slides, the next size up she was swimming in. Good boots, bad fit.

    uhhhhmazing

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

I was skeptical about these boots after reading some of the negative reviews regarding warmth and painful rubbing on the back of your heel. However, after putting them through 8 miles of snowy trails this weekend, I can say that those two issues can be resolved with proper sizing. Despite reviews stating that these boots run large and to size down when ordering, I decided to stick with my usual size and I'm glad I did. This is a winter boot and is not designed to fit snug like a fashion boot. When sized properly, they have enough room to retain warmth and do not rub your heel at all.
Other than that, I love how they look and they work well with keeping the snow out and have pretty good traction.

    Happy trails :)

    I'm in love...

I LOVE Love love these boots. They're warm, waterproof, and so cute! I wear them shoveling, walking, to/from skiing, playing with the pups and my kiddo, and anytime there's snow or slush on the ground. My first pair lasted a few years, this will be my second winter in my second pair and they look almost new still. Great boots. Exceptional quality, definitely worth it.

    AMAZING QUALITY

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 8.5

I just got my boots in the mail. I was so surprised how quickly I received them. I tried them on and they fit perfectly! I am usually a size 9, but heard these boots run a little big, so I got an 8.5 and they fit perfect with a little extra room so i can wear my wool socks. I will be using these boots for ice fishing, winter camping, and running around town. I cannot wait to use them in the snow.

I've finally broken down and purchased an insulated winter boot! After reading reviews, these are the ones that made the final cut. So far I have not been able to test them in cold winter conditions, but the fit and comfort of them is spot on. They seem a little clunky, but if they keep my feet warm it will be worth it in the long run.

    So Far So Good!

I am preparing for the Utah winter early this year and picked up these rad kicks. They feel really durable and the fur looks great! So far I'm really impressed with the overall feel of these boots. Will report back when they have seen some snow action.
These babies are true to size!!!! Thank goodness. I tried them on with a thick wool sock and they fit like a dream. Sorel, you've done it again.

    My Work Snowboots

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: size 7

We've had tons of snow in Montana and as a realtor, I have to be out in the snow quite a bit. These boots are cute and functional. I always get complements and I am safe in the snow and ice. I was glad that someone mentioned they run small. I like to order big especially for winter socks. I usually order 8 in cowgirl boots so they can slip off my feet in case of getting stuck in a stirrup. I ordered a 7 in these and they fit perfect with winter socks. I would say my normal size is 7.5. Great boots!

I just ordered boots in nori- daughter wants this in shale instead size 7, can I change the color?

Kind of hard to tell in pictures but is the shale color brown or grey??

how many grams of insulation and are they completely waterproof??

    SOREL rated: -25° fahrenheit / -32° Celsius

    Shaft Height: 12 in / 30.5 cm

    Weight: 31 oz / 874 g

Short answer: these are insulated with a 6mm thick felt liner (not down or synthetic insulation).

The materials are waterproof and seams are sealed - Sorel guarantees that these are indeed waterproof.

    Are these boots heavy?

Are these the warmest winter boot available?

    Hey Donna,

Sorel rates these boots to -25° Fahrenheit (-32° Celsius) and they weigh 31 oz (874 grams) each. If you are looking for something warmer check out the Baffin Impact Winter Boot (Item # BAF0005) which is rated to -148F (-100C). Feel free to contact me directly with any more questions about Winter Boots or if you are interested in setting up an order.

I need these in the taffy color size 7......help!

    Hey Jennifer,

Does not look like we have any of the Taffy colored Sorel Joan of Arctic Boots on order from Sorel. This means we will not have them in stock for a while if at all. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any more questions or would like help finding something similar.

Hi I was wondering if there was any new updates on these boots yet? Are you going to be getting more in soon?

I ordered the women's caribou in December and sent them back because they were the wrong size. Now I have a credit and have been waiting for sorel snow boots to come back into stock. I was told within a month but still nothing. Will you be getting any more??

I would like to be contacted when the black is back in stock pls...thank you =)

I've already ordered them from Urban Outfitters...to much back & forth with Backcounrty!!! They are in-stock they aren't...they are but they really aren't. And I've been told so many different "stories" from Online customer service agents. I might have liked making a purchase from this site ...BUT after all the bologna & nonsense...it's NOT worth my time & definitely NOT my money!!!

Is it possible to be notified when these are available in a black, size 9?

i would love to be notified if these are restocked. I am interested in the black color, size 10. I have looked everywhere and cannot find them in my size!

Can I get an email when the boots are back in stock? I am looking for a size 7.5, preferably in Shale, but I would take Black or Brown as well. Thanks!

Can you send me an email when you get these in in black or tobacco?

Is there a backorder coming in soon for size 7? I am interested in buying one.

How do I get in on the backorder? Do I just check the website daily? Or pre-order? I am interested in purchasing a size 9 either black or tobacco/sudan brown Joan of Arctic boots.

Will any size 8 tobacco/sudan brown boots be on that backorder shipment? And if yes, do you think it will be before the 23rd? So I can use that 20% off code. :) Thanks!
