Wear the Sorel Cumberland Boots because when the weather gets gnarly your feet shouldn't.

Eh, they are ok.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: Runs small
I bought these for walking around in the snow, but I quickly realised that the rubber part is too tight and caused the circulation in my feet to be restricted. Forcing me to wear thinner socks and have even less insulation. They are ok for short periods of time but not if you plan on spending all day on your feet.
Warm to a point
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I have spent months of my life wearing these. I live above 9000ft in the mountains, and these boots are my everyday shoes. Around town, to and from work, etc. - they're super warm, even when it's 0F outside. However, I have worked on the mountain as a photographer, and I would wear these boots instead of ski boots sometimes. If you're planning on standing on snow with minimal activity for more than 20 minutes, these are not the boots for you. My feet have turned into ice blocks, even when it's toasty out (25-35F). From what I can tell, the rubber around the foot does not trap heat (as opposed to the nylon upper, which is consistently very warm) and instead gets really cold really fast. It's like having your feet in a refrigerator. Not cool.
So if you're looking for something for town, nights out, grocery runs, etc., these boots are great. If you're going to be standing on snow for extended periods of time, look elsewhere.
warm, warm, warm

My feet are always cold, but not in these boots. The first boots I have owned where my feet don't even get a little bit cold even up in the cold mountains.

I bought these for working and playing in the snow. Today it was 15 degrees out and my feet were toasty warm. They are light enough to walk in for a while and are a perfect companion for snowshoes.

I thought these boots were very comfortable for walking in the snow, but not good for cold weather. They are rated to -25 deg, but in 25 deg weather my toes turned frozen in only a few min time. I love sorel boots, but these are not good for very cold weather.
Not my favorite Sorel
I have a pair of monstrous Sorel boots that i purchased in 1993 and they are still fabulous, but a little too cumbersome. SO i purchased these cute boots because I trust Sorel to produce quality products and i liked them.
Traction is great!
Warm and toasty -only if you are in motion. NOT good when standing for long periods of time outdoors.
FIT..... Really peculiar. I can not get the boot tight enough to provide any support around my ankle. I've worn mountain socks layered and still, the boots can not be fastened tightly.
True to size
I got these boots to wear in Jackson Hole. I was concerned about sizing, however these boots fit true to size. They are also very stylish and cute; not the bulky, oversized winter boots that I am used to seeing. I would recommend these.
Very comfortable but not warm enough...
I got these boots for a ski trip to Colorado last Christimas. The boots look really cute and are very comfortable, but, after a while outside in the snow, my feet started to frozen. They are waterproof, but they get cold in the inside, so, not recommended for a long time in the snow at lower temperatures.
This boots look great if I could only get my high arch into them. Without a zipper or laced closing there is no way I can get my foot into them. They will be returned...high arches beware!

Do these boots run wide? I have a very narrow foot and small ankle so a lot of snow boots look like clown shoes on me.

are these boots good to wear with snowshoes?
Worth every penny.
Great boots. I ordered them for a ski trip to CO and wore them any time I wasn't in a ski boot. My feet stayed warm and dry on a 5 hour hike in the snow in 20-degree weather, too. The boots are super comfy for walking and look really stylish as well. I'm so glad I got them and plan to use them for years to come.
I love these boots! Finally a pair of boots that keep my feet dry and cozy warm.
I thought the boots were wonderful. They definately looked warm & felt comfty -- but was unable to use them as I found THEY DO run large, at least for me.
I wear an 8 in all my shoes -- but I read various things about them. When placed order I questioned this & was told they were true to size.
I had to return them as they were too big. Even with thick socks & even 2 pair of socks & even w/stockings w/2 pair socks they were still too big.
I didn't take the risk of going out in the snow w/them or down the hill or anything as I didn't want to get hurt w/them being bulky --
BUT other than that I thought they were ok.
Have to admit the return service area is wonderful. Had a hard time & had to use the phone service & the person was WONDERFUL!! I wasn't able to print out the 6.99 return label & had to ship it via USPS which cost me more -- but Now I am just waiting for them to receive them & get my refund -- which they said should have no problem in getting my cc refunded correctly.
Thanks for letting me be honest with you & everyone!
I bought these boots based on all of the positive feedback on the website (I had never seen them in person or tried on). They are REALLY cute and are exactly what I was looking for. The are true to size. I would agree w/ the one comment on lacing up - they don't cinch tightly, so feel a little loose. I tend to tuck my jeans into them, so won't be a huge problem, but just an fyi.
Decent boot for the price
Based on all of the (mostly very positive) reviews on this site, and the excellent price, I bought these boots without ever seeing them in real life and never having tried them on. I got them in Black, Size 8.
Things I like:
- very durable
- black color hides the dirt
- fit is true to size
Things I don't love:
- my ankles are a bit narrow, but that's never been a problem with boots before. The laces on these boots don't tie up tight enough to get a snug fit at the ankle, so it feels a bit like I'm wearing galoshes when I walk with them
- no padding on the inside of the foot area, so the top of your toes are rubbing up against hard rubber
- I didn't really think of it when I looked at pictures on the website but I often wear these with black pants, so they end up looking a bit like Santa Claus boots...not such a great look for a female professional :)
Love these boots!
I love these boots! I love the green color - kind of like an olive green. They are super warm and comfortable and USEFUL. I've worn them a bunch in the snow and they have great traction.
This boot fits perfectly, (true to size) is warm, looks great, and is very versatile. It was a great purchase, and I absolutely love them. They are easy to put on and take off, even with the laces tied.
Absolutely love my new Sorels. Finally a boot that keeps my feet from freezing!
