Don't buy. Cute but not durable.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I live in Jackson Hole, where waterproof snow boots are a necessity. After 14 months of wearing these to/from work (walking on sidewalks and taking the bus) the rubber toe is cracking and they no longer serve their purpose of keeping you dry in 500" winters. In addition to this, the siding of the heel has peeled off (leather overlay on top of plastic), the rubber heel has come apart, and two of the grommets have come off. And sorel, the leading snow boot company, has a 1-year warranty. Do yourself a favor and pick another brand.

Comfortable and Perfect for Fall

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These boots rule. I have had mine for about a year now and absolutely no trouble with the quality or make. They are really comfortable once you get them on, but the heel is sort of narrower than other sorels and they are kind of annoying to get on and off. Other than that I love them! They are short and not totally awesome for snow - but they rule for fall!

Love this company!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

Sorel has done it again...made a great outdoor shoe with awesome style! Please make sure to order a half size up, the conquest Carly's run just like the sorel slimpack riding shoe and typically run small. I have both pairs and love them. I am usually a 7.5 and I learned the hard way, returning my slimpacks because they were too small. I ordered and 8 in both the conquest carly & slimpack and LOVE LOVE LOVE them! Hope you enjoy

Cute but not very comfortable

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Super cute boots. I love the look. However, it feels as if the heel was put on without any adjustment being made to the arch or toe area. They are very big on the interior, even after putting inserts in. I need to look into something to put under the ball of my foot still. But it's worth it, as I'm not a big fan of the bulkiness typically found in Sorel's.

When I saw these, I had to have them. They are extremely stylish, however I wish they were lined to keep my feet warmer through Colorado winters. Ordered 1/2 size smaller and they fit perfect!

Very Warm

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These Boots are great! I love the classic look of Sorels but these are also a little more dressier. They are warm and will be great for winter. Sorel does run a little big so I ordered half size down.

I was initially attracted to these boots because of their chic style, but they are incredibly functional and comfortable. I ordered 1/2 size smaller than normal and they fit perfect. I would highly recommend these to any mountain girl!

As a bit of a Sorel junkie, I saw these and had to have them. The neat brass detailing and gorgeous full-grain leather make them irresistible. I wanted a shorter height boot that could be easily worn with ski pants, and these do the trick.

Having sampled many styles of Sorels, I found this model to run much smaller than others. I normally fit into a size 6 and the size 6.0 on this model was very tight, wearable, but significantly tighter than any other size 6.0 Sorel I've tried on.

I I love the beefiness and durability of Sorel construction, and I expect these to last for many winterts. The fact that they are stylish without being ostentatious also makes for a good investment.

These boots are not as thickly insulated as other Sorel options out there. I find that unless I am wearing thicker socks, my feet tend to get cold when temps dip below 32 F. The traction on this boot is excellent, more so than that on the Cate the Great boot.

I ordered the Autumn Bronze and the color is exactly as pictured. (Gorgeous)

Check out the image of the sole I uploaded to get an idea of the traction on these boots.

If looking for a TRUE winter boot, I highly encourage you to evaluate other options. This one is more fashion than function. It isn't particularly warm - nor as durable as the more traditional options like the Caribou.

will these boots be coming back at any point? ive been looking all over for them and reeaallly want them bad!

Hey Lindsey,

Unfortunately Sorel did not bring the Carly Short back this year, so we won't be able to get more in stock. Here's a link for the updated version:

OR... They did bring the Carly Tall back. Here's the link for that:

I've been waiting to order the autumn...

I've been waiting to order the autumn bronze in a 8! Anxiously awaiting when these boots will be available again!

Do you have a 9.5 on order in the bronze...

Do you have a 9.5 on order in the bronze color? I would like to order a pair. Thanks!

Unfortunately it looks like the shipment we've been waiting on still hasn't came through, and I'm not sure if we'll actually be receiving any more at this time.

We were meant to receive a full order of the Autumn Bronze color-way, all the way back on December 6th, so chances are, we're probably fresh out for the time being.

will these be coming back? ordered wrong...

will these be coming back? ordered wrong size and need to exchange up

What is the warmth rating on these...

What is the warmth rating on these boots?

Hi there, these don't have a warmth rating per se.

They only have minimal insulation so I found they weren't great for extended periods of time outdoors. I have the Cate the Great boots which offer significantly better warmth with the thicker insulation.

I think these are honestly more suitable for cruising around town or casual wear. They aren't the warmest boots I've tried.

Lexi is absolutely right-on about the expected use of these boots: CASUAL USE ONLY.

They are not warm (you might want to consider a winter insole to help keep the cold from conducting through), nor 100% water-proof. Be sure to wear good (wool preferably) socks to not only help feet to be somewhat warm, but also, as the foot bed is rubber, it causes feet to sweat, and then chill.

Also, the 'tread' is next to non existent; don't expect to use these for general winter use.

There is no ankle support at all.

Laces are raw hide, which will wear quicker and break sooner than synthetic laces...nor do they stay tied as well.

Finally, they do run small, in that the length from heel to toe is rather short, necessitating a need to size up (I went only a half-size up), but then they are too wide, and sloppy.

And about the laminate heel...see pics. others have sent in on the 'tall' version of these same boots...

These are best worn at the Mall, unfortunately.

For warmth and overall rugged winter wear (and not bad looking boots, either), try the North Face Mcmurdo boots (and size up a whole size) will be warm; they ARE water-proof; great tread/traction; and you will be able to use them with no worries this winter!
