Definitely helpful info, and I suppose I owe you a ten spot based solely on me trusting your information is correct on production location(s). They still should be made in USA, but we all know that's a joke. Are they worth 450 bucks, hell no. If Baffin still makes their products up there, which they did when I purchased my pair, their boots blow Sorels out of the water. Or snow in this case. And they're significantly less expensive, even for their higher end lines. I appreciate the comment, always! Have fun in the snow! It's already in the mountains here in Montana, USA!

Sorel is a subsidiary of Columbia now that they were purchased and since then some of their products have expanded to be produced elsewhere but these boots are still made in Canada with some of the highest quality materials and best craftsmanship in the world. Are there cheaper boots out there? Yes. Is this one worth the price? YES.
Owe me $10?

The harsh Australian winter ( -2C )

Bought these over the internet after reading the reviews etc. Backcountry online help was beyond reproach and a great idea. The size is exact. My footsize is 27cm long which is Japanese for US9 Mens I take 9 and this was nine! Some people were blaming the size when they owned up to eee+ feet. At 7hrs of wear there were no pinched or uncomfortable areas. This boot and liner ARE MADE IN CHINA for all those who say they are US/Canadian mAde. The boot seems well made - time will tell- it will be easy to waterproof and leather is high qual. Winter skiing in Chile and Norway and holiday to Greenland before it melts were the motivation to buy.Dont know if the extra I paid for Wool Reserve 2011 Caribou's will be worth it in wear, but maybe for warmth.
