too bulky....

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large

I have had these for about 2 weeks now and have been taking them out of the box and trying them on in front of my mirror in my room, almost daily (I know, such a girl thing). I have been trying to get myself to like them but it just isn't happenin. I want a pair that I can where up in the mountains, either just switching out for ski boots, snow shoeing, etc. and ones I can wear across campus and around town. The toe box is just too big and bulky for me. Maybe a smaller size would fix that problem, but there aren't any left in the size I would want to try. I loved these because they're different from the usual Sorel's that everyone have and I thought they wouldn't be as bulky and could wear them on a daily basis in the winter but I was wrong. I would suggest AT LEAST going down 1/2 a size maybe a full size. There super chunky and kind of hard to walk in. I am so bummed :( But I might add, the quality is great and no doubt will keep your feet super dry and warm. Still on the lookout for some good winter boots this winter.

Do you carry the peatmoss, red plum color way in the Sorel 1964 Premium CVS boot for women? Size 9?

Responded on

Hey jamp36848,

We will have some Peatmoss/Red Plum, 9.0 on the site within a few weeks. I would bookmark this page and visit it frequently to see if we have updated our inventory. Once the color and size you want is visible in the drop down box, it is available for purchase.

Will you be restocking on anymore of the fossil, siberia color?!

Responded on

Yes, looks like those should hopefully arrive soon!

On Behalf of My Wife

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift
  • Fit: True to size

I ordered these Sorel boots for my wife because, after seeing my Sorel boots in action last winter, she became very jealous and had to get a pair for Winterpocolypse '14-15. She ordered true to size and she says that they fit perfect. Completely waterproof and snug as all h***, I'm sure that she won't be complaining (as much) this year about the snow!

From the Eastern Block

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Took these to Eastern Europe during the winter and loved them! While my roommates were wearing 5 layers of wool socks I just had the one with these boots. Keeps you dry, cozy warm, easy to break in, and super comfortable. These are worth every penny.

I usually wear 8.5 but had to go up to a 9 since they don't do half sizes

How do the sizes run? Normally 6.5 but...

My experience is that Sorels tend to run about a half size big. I would stick with your typical 6.5 if you plan to wear thick socks with these.

cozy & warm

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

it was a toss up between these and the joan of arctic (i will probably end up buying these before the end of winter :)) i tried both on in store and decided on the black 1964 with purple laces.. i absolutely love these boots. they are warm (i hate having cold feet & almost always do, but not with these boots) waterproof and super cozy. no need to break in, i wore them out of the store and for the rest of the cold snowy day and got many compliments. i am normally an 8.5 and bought the size 8 and they fit perfectly ( ican wear them with medium weight socks or ankle socks) i have already highly recommended these boots (and the joan of arctic) to many girlfriends. would definitely buy again! love love love.

Retro Style - Modern Comforts

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

I love the look of these boots and the good news is they are warm and waterproof, too!

They may look like 1964 Sorels but the fit and finish is 21st century.
My only warning would be that they fit a little wider than some Sorels because of the boot's shape.

I use these boots for everything I do outdoors in the winter.
The 1964 CSV boot is totally waterproof and best of all they are lightweight. This makes them great for shovelling the driveway or running around in the snow.

They are tough and still look as good as when I got them - even after a Northern Canadian winter!

Warning: wide

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I got the boysenberry and they are beautiful! But they are wide. Cute with leggings or boot-cut pants. Straight leg pants don't lay as well. Size six fits great with a thin sock and the fleece liner, but I have to wear thick socks and an insole when I don't wear the liner. I think the size 5 would be too small. They do take a bit to break in. Excellent for rain, muck, and snow!

Perfect Snow Boot

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love these boots. They are great for tromping through the snow, and very warm even in subzero temps. Both the blue and red colors are super cute. Not bar-hopping cute, but perfect for headed out on a winter walk, or up to the resort for a ski. I would agree with the other reviews that they tend to run a little big.

Delivered!

I bought these because I was done with wet, soggy, feet. Love winter, not wet feet and they do the trick. I was concerned about breathability and comfort. More cush on the sole than expected; very comfy. As for breathable, this isn't your wick-away-moisture boot but does just great unless you are prone to sweat alot or you are in temps that warm up considerably. But for everyday cold winter and sloshy wet, these are perfect! And, the compliments keep coming on looks and style! Be sure to size down one size as they run large. I gave them a 5 star because, even though they are not top on the breathability chart, that's not why I purchased them. They deliver where expected.

Awesome

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just got these boots. I am a 7.5 but I got a 7. They fit great with enough room for thick socks and they seem warm. The toe box is a little wider than expected but once you put them on you can't really tell. I have the blue ones and they also come with extra grey laces. Super stoked on these.

Worth it.

These boots are comfy, waterproof, and stylish. I always get compliments on them! They keep my feet warm and my clumsy self from slipping on the ice during freezing weather. No complaints here.

Returning...

  • Gender: Female

Loved the look of these boots and seemed to be just what I was looking for in a snow/hiking boot with style. But ordered a half size smaller than my usual and they were still to big, also didnt fit snug enough and had a lot of movement going on causing a few blisters. No Fun! If they worked good I could of handled the clunky look of the boot, mainly in the toes area its bulky.

Cool snow boots for real conditions

My 10 year daughter just got a pair of these. She went for the black, which have the purple laces. She thinks they look really cool and is also talking about what skinny jeans or leggings will let her show the boots off. My wife has had a couple of pairs of the same boots and we're glad to know they're waterproof & warm, great for snowy climes. Fit was true to size.

A bit clunky but cute for a snowboot

I thought these boots were so cute in the picture but on my feet they look a bit more large and clunky than I was expecting. However they ARE snow boots so I figured their form fits their function. And they still look cute, just a little big so I decided to keep them. I went with my normal size 9 and it fits fine with a little extra room to wear thick socks.
