In Big Cottonwood Canyon in Utah, nothing stands between you and your Solitude. Known for nonexistent lift lines, deep Wasatch powder, and an average of one person per acre, Solitude Mountain Resort is aptly named. Solitude offers 2,047 feet of vertical, eight lifts, a terrain park, and 500 inches of annual snowfall, all on 1,200 acres of terrain. Add to that bowls, glades, chutes, and the incomparable Honeycomb Canyon, and you have an ideal destination for skiers and boarders of all abilities. Save time and money, and purchase your discounted lift tickets to Solitude online right here at Backcountry.com. We'll ship them to your house, and they're valid any day all season.

Bottom Line: When you're ready to find your Solitude and a whole lot of untracked powder, grab your discounted lift tickets and head straight for the lifts.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

all by myself

It took me about 4 trips to get somewhat an idea what was available at this resort. Try to get a ride on every lift if you go. Some parts I wouldn't like to ride on a board if i had to make first tracks (honeycomb), but once tracks are set it isn't bad. I have never waited in a line longer than 5 min. The electronic gates are pretty cool as well, not having to show someone your pass or fumble around trying to find it.

It's all about the powder!

If your looking for a ski area in Utah that you can find powder for days after the storm, head up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Solitude. The resort is rarely crowded, the terrain is challenging, and the powder is deep.

The Name Says It All

The name of this resort is Solitude, and if you want a solitude skiing experience (no lift lines, etc.), check this ski resort out. They have some sick terrain as well in the world famous Honey Comb Canyon, and is a very family friendly resort. I learned to ski at this resort 16 years ago when I was 5 years old.

You owe yourself a day at the 'Tude

Solitude's awesome, hands down one of the most under-rated and easily overlooked resorts in the Rockies. Everybody gets into town and dashes to Snowbird and Alta but the 'Tude gets the same pow without the lines, and if you know where to look (around behind the patrol cabin, for instance) it's got some of the wildest craggy skiing around. Solitude's a deal anyway, which makes these passes a crazy deal. If you're skiing in Utah you owe yourself a Solitude day.
