The Solio Universal Solar Charger restores the juice in your iPod, cell phone, and digital camera using energy from the sun or a typical wall socket, which makes it ideal for use on vacation, expeditions, or during emergencies. Fully charged, the Universal Solar Charger stores enough electricity to charge an iPod nano or cell phone twice. One hour under the sun will give you enough energy for an hour of music or 25 minutes of talk time on your cell phone. Interchangeable Power Tips allow you to carry one charger for all your electronics, including MP3 players, portable gaming devices, cameras, cell phones, and GPS (including the Sunnto X9i GPS watch). A unique fanning design makes this Solio charger compact and durable. **Package includes wall adapters for US, UK, Europe and Australia and New Zealand, mini USB tip, USB tip (works with iPod), Nokia, Motorola, Samsung tips, Universal cable, 12V universal adaptor (car adaptor). For more info on compatibility, see sizing chart.

Bottom Line: Use the Solio Universal Charger to power up your portable electronics around home, basecamp, or anywhere where there's sunshine.

Loved it!

I was heading out for a week of rock climbing in red rock canyon, Nevada. No electricity camping for a week but wanted to keep in touch with home while I was gone. Daily sun light kept the Solio charged. I was able to recharge my cell phone whenever it needed it from this device. Just set it in the sun and leave it. Down side, back in Michigan I'll have to wait till summer to get much use out of it. It also was able to power my Garmin GPS when necessary.

Energy anywhere

A fantastic piece of kit. Like all good inventions it's so simple. The unit consists of three small PV panels which turn the sun's energy into electricity which can either be tapped directly by a device, or used later to charge a device as there is a battery integrated into the design.
I use it mainly to charge small electrical items such as my mobile phone and iPod anywhere from the beach, to the park, to the mountains to my garden.

I'd like to use this to charge my I-Touch on the airplane

This device should charge USB, and this comes with a USB adapter to charge your device with. Same USB as the Ipod takes. If you have Mini-USB this will charge that connection as well.

This is so easy to use, even stores a charge, and will charge your cell phone, Ipod and all hand held devices. This is an incredible device that you can have something charging on top of your pack as you trek along. Great to keep in your car in case of an emergency if you are road tripping and the car dies and you need your phone charged to get assistance. A must have item for everything in this wireless world we live in!

Waste of Money

Definitely do not buy this product. I received this as a gift before a 6 week cross country road trip. I tried many times to charge a Palm Treo with it and could never get more than 20% of a charge. Placed this on the dash in the middle of the summer and that still was not enough sun to charge the solio completely. Or rather it would say it was completely charged but it could not transmit this charge to the Treo. I read the manual several times and still had no luck. Maybe it was defective but in my opinion this product is a gimmick.
