They don't stink!
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Okay, first of all I got this at a steal on Backcountry. I've worn them mostly indoors and I can honestly say that because they're made of cork that they're the best smelling sandals I've ever worn.
Usually, when I get home, I take off my shoes and put on sandals or slippers. Often, I'm too lazy to take off my smelly socks, but end up paying for it later when my slippers/sandals are too stinky to keep, and I end up throwing them out.
The cork, on the other hand, is a definite plus because I know that in home renovations they use cork flooring because it inhibits growth of mold, mildew, and bacteria. I guess it's doing the same thing with my often stinky, smelly feet. I'm surprised that I don't see cork being used more in the footwear industry.
I can't speak on the outdoor durability of these things since I choose to wear them indoors but they definitely look nice and feel high quality. The cork layer on top also feels surprisingly comfortable and has some cushion, and I'm grateful for the arch support (I can wear these all day and my feet don't feel tired). The deep heel cup and ridges are a plus since it prevents slipping/slapping compared to flip flops. You can run in these if you want, but you're not going to set any records.
My only gripe was when I put them on the first time, they felt a little too tight, but after a week of using them they loosened up and fit comfortably.
BTW I ordered a size 9 and they fit true to size (except at the beginning).
