The SOG PowerAssist Multi-Tool is far from a power tool, but it certainly gives you the power to do more with less. Two SOG assisted technology blades use opposing high-tension coil springs balanced just right to nearly open on their own; once your finger initiates the process of course. Best part is even when the main tool is closed, the blades are available, but lock closed (so no poking through a pack or your butt). Whether you’re right or left handed (or even if you only have one) and all you have available is your less dominant digits—no problem.

Bottom Line: Two easy-to-open blades, pliers, and wire cutters in addition to five other components equal one bad-ass tool.

There was 2 things I altered. I ended up replacing the C-4 punch with a philips screwdriver since I had no use for it. I also had to tighten the cover since it kept popping off. After that, nothing but awesomeness. I have been using it for a few months with no problems. Everything is very smooth.

Turns out to be the S67
http://sogknives.com/store/S67.html

The S66 has a phillips, a bottle opener and the V-Cutter
This is missing all those but has the C-4 punch

Great Tool!

I've literally had this multi-tool on my hip everyday (except for flights(TSA)) since I bought it off SAC about six months ago. I had never heard of the brand before, but the product looked intriguing. I figured I'd wear it around for a bit and only use it when I was fixing things or in the outdoors. I wasn't sure I could play the role of "that guy" who wears crap on his belt. Little did I know I didn't have a choice because I'd become attached to it.... It's like a third hand now and it's amazing how easy it can make your life to have a multi-tool... specifically this multi-tool with you everyday. I've had a Leatherman and a Gerber in the past but for some reason they never stuck. I don't think I've had a day pass without using it for some random task. After six months it shows very little signs of wear and it's mechanical operation is very smooth. It's one hand operation is pretty awesome and it's tough as hell. I've cut silverware, pennies and barbed wire in half with it and I can still cut through very fine wire with no problems. The power-assisted blades still work great and are very useful. It's also very fun to play with when your bored... even after all this time. If I lose my SOG or somehow break it trying to cut a chair in half or something... I'm definitely going to buy a new one ASAP.

A pretty good multi-tool

I've owned many SOG knives - they've been through war and they've held up fine. If you're looking for a good multi-tool and this has the tools package you're looking for I'd recommend it. The powerassist is nice and works very well. If you're actually getting this for EOD or demo work then you ought to know that the blasting camp crimper is not authorized for military use. That said, I'm sure most of us have used the Gerber or other unapproved crimper and been just fine. In my opinion the difference here could be the stand-off from the crimper. I'm not sure I like it underneath and closer to my fingers rather than incorporated in with the pliers like on the Gerber. It may not be a huge difference in distance but if a blasting cap goes off when you're crimping it it could, very well, make a difference as to how many fingers you're going to lose. This, however, doesn't bother me too much because I carry a set of M2 crimpers on my kit regardless and use my multi-tool as a multi-tool (and maybe a crimper in a pinch). But, again, if you're just in the market for a good multi-tool (especially if this is up on SAC again) this one is definitely worth the money.
