Never mind the fact that the SOG Flash II TiNi Knife features a razor-sharp, half-serrated blade or that it locks up tighter than a snare drum in December. We think the coolest thing about this sleek knife is the cryogenic freeze treatment SOG gave it to increase the durability and edge retention. The Flash II also features SOG Assisted Technology, which employs a piston lock to snap the blade into place when you open it. An additional safety lock keeps the blade secure when closed, and the reversible clip lets you pull out the Flash with lightning-quick speed.
Bottom Line: Protect yourself from Nasty Nate with this cutting-edge blade.

This knife is incredibly quick opening and once I got used to using the safety and the unusual piston lock release, I've fallen in love with this knife. A little expensive for the end result but very well made.
My only note is that left handed people shouldn't purchase this knife, as it is not a very ambidextrous model.

I own 3 SOG knives with the piston lock and S.A.T, and have never had an issue with the lock & blade safety being set up for a righty. My ring finger works the safety, and I can close the blade lock with my index finger. Pretty damn easy, and in my opinion, much safer/convenient since my thumb and other fingers are already gripping the knife while I'm manipulating the levers.

i have owned a couple of different CRKT knives, including the tiny tighe breaker. this SOG is my favorite knife so far. it has a great open assist response, is extremely sharp, and has a great safety lock so that it doesn't open when you don't want it to (although, to be fair, my CRKT's never did either, and they didn't have a safety..) GREAT KNIFE!!
