SOG Knives Field Pup Knife - 2009 BCS

The handle of this fixed blade knife has a nice feel to it and it grips well regardless of the weather. Typical SOG quality and the blade is sharp from the factory. Sheath is included.

Picked this up on Steep and Cheap for a song. The knife comes very sharp and is easy to sharpen even further. The included nylon sheath is nice and fits several sizes of multi tools.

The fixed blade is nice for around camp stuff, including preparing food. There are nicer knives out there, but none for this price.

SOG is a reputable company, so I expect to have this for many years.

Excellent hiking or trekking companion. One of the best grips I ever held, super slip proof when wet, excellent no slip thumb rest on the back of the blade.A can do everything knife, from woodcutting to cooking hey you can even shave with it if you hone the edge regularly. It has an excellent sheath with front pocket for a honing stone or multitool. Super light weight.

The only downside is the hollow grind of the blade i prefer a straight grind because that gives a more rigid edge. But as it will not be used as a wood chopping knife because of its size anyway, it is still one of my favorite knifes.

and it was a bargain, even with $15 in shipping to canada, the knife is dangerously well made. the sheath it came with makes it twice as worth it. it fits my swiss army knife like a charm and some SOG power lock multi tool (which come to think of it i also got off SAC a while back) pretty snugly. I attached it to my Hiking backpack (another SAC purchase a long time ago) waist strap with the flap in the back.

This is a great camp/outdoor knife. I can keep both a firestarter and a blade sharpener in the extra pouch. The handle is excellent. Feels very nice in the hand, without feeling like too much or little. Great knife SOG!
