The Smith Variant Brim Skullcandy Audio Helmet provides hands-free audio enjoyment of your cell phones and MP3s. Skullcandy's inclusive system includes a universal plug, direct-connect cable, iPod adapter, universal adapter, and cord case. The ear pads include track control, mute, and adjustable volume control for your hearing pleasure. The Smith Variant Helmet still has all of its sick tech functions, like its lightweight and durable Hybrid Shell construction and AirEvac 2 technology, which allows this helmet to work well with goggles by channeling moist air over your head in order to reduce fogging.
Bottom Line: The Smith Variant Audio Helmet comes equipped with a full-on audio system while still protecting your head—yeah.
This helmet is light and comfortable. It is pretty warm by itself or it is easy to remove the top liner and wear a balaclava underneath it. The Skullcandy audio provides great sound. They work great with the Smith I/O goggles. The only bad thing about this helmet is that everyone has one.....so it isn't real novel.
Okay had the setup last year with Nokia phone never an issue. Now with 3gs Iphone i get some wierd stuff. Initially i can synch up and go works fine. But sometimes if i turn of headphones on helmet I cannot get them to turn back on or they just stay on and i cannot resync?? Any help
just plug in the normal plug to the iphone, i've had this helmet with iphone for two years, you'll be able to mute audio and control volume, but not take calls, you would need extra adapter and would not be able to use smith mic. You can hear iphone ringing through headphones, so stop take gloves off and anser if you really need to, like talking through speaker phone... works well. i think best bet is getting shuffle/nano for music, iphone gets moisture and your screwed, happened to me once in two years at snowbird. up to you, how risky are you?

This helmet is absolutely fantastic!! I feel totally confident skiing all kinds of terrain, and it's also very warm (my last helmet failed in this department).
I cannot remove the earpieces. I wish to put in the Single-Shot Skullcandy audio, but it is difficult. I pulled out the actual ear pieces but they are still attached to the helmet because of some plastic pieces. I do not want to break my helmet, so if someone could explain how to get the earpieces off, that would be great!
No complaints, just pure satisfaction. If I am skiing on a windy day with temps below 10 degrees and the trees are covered in perma-frost, I want to be wearing my Skullcandy Audio helmet. Wow...underneath that black polycarbonate shell is warmth and great music. The headphones produce extremely quality sound. The headphones don't look bulky--in fact you don't even notice them...only the little blue light. All of this AND ultimate protection for those unforeseen moments when you are cut off by some &^%$$$@#.... Whether you want the headphones or not, by the Skullcandy, protection, warmth, and high quality sound.
Are the earbud/earpads excessively bulky with this helmet? I dont want the HUGE headphones look. Do these headphones stick out or are they smaller headphones that fit into the regular size earpads?? Follow me?
I am with Alexander. You have no idea that the helmet helmet even has headphones if it wasn't for the plug or the blue light. I think this helmet is awesome and extremely warm.
It should work just fine as long as your Zune has any normal headphone plug in that you plug your headphones in to listen to music with. This comes with a "universal plug, direct-connect cable, iPod adapter, universal adapter" so it basically works with anything. You should be fine. And if for some crazy reason it doesn't (which I highly doubt) you could always send it back for a full refund, no questions asked.
your ears will get used to it like hands on golf clubs. i have developed rough skin in areas that touch, use soft fleece inserts if u need extra padding, sound will always be subpar until skull candy steps it up
Help, I can pair my Blackberry no problem but when I pair the Ipod it does not allow the Blackberry to work, Seems only one device can be installed at once. Also when you turn the bluetooth off at the helmet, you have to re-pair which ever unit (phone or Ipod) you want to use. Any ideas appreciated
