Anyone figure out how to pair the helmet with the included ipod

Anyone figure out how to pair the helmet with the included ipod BT adapter? My helmet blinks 3 blue flashes in a row, and the included instructions are just awful.

are the strips painted on or stuck on? I think it is silly that they only offer this helmet with the strips vs the full color set without the bluetooth.I want a plain black helmet with bluetooth

They're painted on. You could spray paint the whole helmet I guess.
