After racing my entire life I finally decided I needed to ditch my hard-ear Uvex for a softie. I tried on a bunch of different helmets including different Poc's and Smith's Variant.
The Vantage fit the best by far. It is light, breathable, and has versatile and easy-to-use vents to allow smooth temperature control.
The only knock I have on this helmet is that it seems to get loud and a little cold in the presence of high wind speeds. That might just be a quality of soft-ears vs. hard ears so other than that this helmet is excellent.

After searching for a while for a comfortable helmet that didn't look like a baloon on my head I finally settled on the Vantage. The adjustable vets can regulate the temperature well, and it is very lightweight so I don't notice wearing it very often. The brim is only marginally useful, infact it mostly just reduces the appearance of the dreaded gap. Otherwise I have no real complaints about this helmet.

I got rid of my Variant and now use this. Much better helmet. Lighter. Fits better and I think it looks lower profile. Works great with my IO's

I took apart the ear pads one day and am not sure I put it back together again properly as the Boa seems to not loosen up anymore as well as it used to (fortunately it fits, but right now only without a hat on). Are there any instruction sheets showing how to put it back together again? I think I threaded something the wrong way?

I have avoided wearing a helmet and just started this year. Not only does this protect but it keeps you warm or ventilated when necessary and is so light you honestly don't even know it is on your head.

How well is the view , is it restricted at all , wondering how good for mountain biking ?

The view is fine, not restricted, but for mountain biking I would go with something else, more lightweight maybe.

The helmet isn't going to restrict your view, the goggles you wear will. But yeah, not good for mtn biking. You'll sweat a bunch. POC makes helmets that do more sport crossover stuff.
The best ski helmet!

This is a great helmet. Warm when closed, cool when the vents are open. The earpieces are really warm, and I've never had to use anything under the helmet to keep warm. I don't love the goggle loop in back, but I can live with it. Best ski helmet I've ever had.

What a perfect helmet. I added the skullcandy audio package and matched it with the Smith I/O goggles (blackout lens). I get lots of comments and the helmet is very light and the audio sounds amazing. I also like the improved vents. This was an upgrade from my variant helmet I used for the last 5 years. I have no complaints at all. Love the Smith system.

Anyone see the Maritime Camp color in person? Think it looks great in the photo. Wondering if those aquamarine vents look kinda dumb in the flesh.

Good fit with good adjustments. Air vents are nice. I have had some trouble with one of the ear pieces staying in but other than that great helmet.
Great helmet, great price

This was a gift for my brother in law, who spents all his free time hitting the slopes. Awesome buy, he loves the helmet, the color (impossibly black), the features...it's light, comfortable, and the dua vent system keeps him warm and dry.
