When a day on the slopes is no excuse to be without your cell phone or MP3 player, the Smith Skullcandy Twin Tip Audio Kit helps you stay connected while you stay protected. This audio kit features headphone ear pads that fit into your helmet and allow you to switch between your tunes and an incoming call. The kit also includes a standard audio jack and a variety of phone jacks that fit most current cell phones. A sensitive microphone with in-line volume control lets you chat away while you cut turns. This kit works with Smith’s Holt and Hustle helmets.

Bottom Line: Turn your helmet into a mobile command center.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

Does this twin tip kit work with a motorola talk about and an mp3 player? AKA instead of using a cel phone, use a two-way radio for backcountry use.

Surround sound bubbleeee

I just got mine today! And so far, I love them.. and I have not even hit the slopes. The sound is great and I feel like I have my own little surround sound bubble... great for tuning out that weird old guy on the lift sitting next to you.

Cons: I have an iphone and I am used to the sweet controllers on the iphone headphones- this pretty much just lets you talk and adjust the volume. you cannot use voice control to shuffle to the next song, call someone... or do whatever else you do with voice command. So it looks like you will still have to get your phone out to dial and select new play lists (rough life.. eh?)

the mic end of the wire is also really close to the phone so you have to keep you phone in a pocket near your chest

you can hear the music from outside the helmet... so profane language full songs are a no no around other peeps... :)

So here's the deal. I struggled trying to figure out how to get the iPhone to work with the single shot and the twin tip. No luck whatsoever! I even talked to reps from Smith Optics and they couldn't help me. Then I got around to thinking, and here is what I came up with!

Solution: Purchase the Single Shot, the Griffin SmartTalk Headphone Adapter with Control and Mic for iPhone, and a short audio cable (6 in or so). It comes out to about $20 extra for the Griffin and cable, which is about the same you would pay for the twin tip.

YOUR WELCOME!

The problem here is that the button and the microphone signals are not carried down both wires. They are only carried on the wire ending with the 2.5 male plug. If you are OK with the button working (for phone calls, play/pause, fwd, rvrs) but the volume button not working, buy one of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000YE54F8/ref=oss_product (.5mm MALE TO 2.5mm FEMALE STEREO HEADPHONE ADAPTER).

I just bought it and it works fine.

zst is right on the money! i had same problem a couple of years ago and that is really only solution, you would need plug on headphones with 3 rings like iphone headphones in order for twin tip to work

Did you happen to try a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adaptor first? I'm thinking that might be an even easier solution.

The Twin Tip comes with different phonejacks and a microphone so it's more like a headset and you can make calls with it. The Single Shot is only only a headphone with a standard audio jack.

I have a Blackberry 8830 which also holds my music. I want one audio kit that I can toggle between music and the phone, with the phone automatically shutting down the music when it rings. My current earbuds do that, but I want this in a helmet design for the Smith helmets. Is this type of product out yet?
