The basic premise behind any helmet doesn't need explaining. With the Smith Premise Helmet, you get a lot more than just the basics. With its Smartshell On Mold construction, the Premise Helmet features a single piece injection EPS liner that's completely durable and lightweight. Adjust the Airflow vents to control airflow and ride comfortably all season. Remove the comfortable snapfit ear pads and air mesh Techliner to go in the wash—and after a long day of ripping it up, they'll need it. Get a custom fit with the adjustable snap buckle, and get on your way.

Bottom Line: Go beyond the basics with the Smith Premise Helmet.

Poor Quality

To be fair, I may have gotten a defective helmet. But the on that I received looked really cheap, the plastic was coming off along the edges, and you could see air bubbles underneath the top coat. I ended up returning the helmet, with ease, thanks to Backcountry.com and I purchased another helmet.

pretty sweet

I've never used a snow helmet before (just used to use a skate helmet with toque/beanie). This is pretty comfy and lightweight on my head. I got the white one. The white is a bit more silver than my white smith anthem goggles, which is a bit too bad cuz they look a little off--not a big deal. The vent control is easy to switch (on/off).

I measured my head before buying it. I'm 57cm, so I got a medium. It feels pretty awesome--only thing is that it feels slightly wide above my ears on either side. I might just have a weird head.

Excellent Helmet

I love this helmet, especially the retractable vents for when it's colder or snowing. I added the headphone/earphones to crank out the tunes on the slope.

Premise helmet

By:

Wow...I think that is the best word I can use to describe this helmet. I was very impressed with how warm this helmet kept me. I used it while preparing for the world cup aerial competition at Deer Valley and even during white out conditions - I was surprisingly warm. My Smith Rhythm goggles fit perfectly without exposing any part of my forehead to the elements. I have already recommended this helmet to friends and fellow Aerial crew at Deer Valley.

Best helmet so far

By:

I used this helmet last season and was impressed with it. Ever season I find an excuse to buy a new helmet but this year I don't think I will because of the comfort with this helmet. I will instead spend my helmet budget on some headphones for the ear covers :-) Out of 6 different helmets I've used best so far.

Fog-free pow day: priceless

Not only is my new helmet adorable--I got the one with the hummingbirds--but the vents on the top work perfectly with my Smith Anthem goggles to suck out the fog. I've been wearing a helmet for years, but this one is by far the most comfortable. The fit is easy to adjust, similar to a high-end bike helmet and a must if you tie your hair back. If you've never worn a helmet, this is a great one to start with.

This thing ROCKS!!

This helmet is completely awesome. I've skied forever and thought I'd better finally get one to protect my noggin. I was worried that it would be heavy and uncomfortable...BOY WAS I WRONG!! The Premise is super lightweight. You don't really even feel like you're wearing a helmet. In fact, it feels much lighter than my bike helmet. It's also super duper comfortable. The mesh ear pads are SO soft, and the chin strap has padding that doesn't irritate at all. The other sweet thing about this ski helmet is that it's SO SO warm! I went out in 10-degree, super windy weather this past weekend and my head didn't feel a thing. It was cozy and warm. When the weather gets warmer, I can open the Premise's vents to let some air in. I can't say enough great things about this thing...Smith hit the nail on the head with this helmet.
