Description

More coverage than a triple-parked double-wide.

Pop the clear or ignitor lenses into the polarized Parallel D Max Sunglasses, tip your hat to Aunt Cindy, and roll out into traffic. Between the widened lens profile (hence the D) and the glare-killing polarized coating, your eyes won’t mind looking towards that floating ball of gas (the sun, not Auntie). You might even reel in some compliments regarding the smooth lines and minimalist styling.

  • Interchangeable clear and ignitor lenses included so you can tackle the great outdoors no matter what the light looks like
  • Non-slip Megol nose and arm pads get stickier as you sweat so you won’t lose these shades if you get jostled
  • TLT lens technology uses a tapered lens shape for crisp clarity without the distortion of a fun-house mirror

Favorite Sporty Pair

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

1. All light conditions covered
2. Good protection, have curbed multiple bug/hanging branch eyeball attacks
3. Great for women, they fit my small head and narrow face well
4. Lens swapping wasn't my favorite at the beginning... I was afraid I was going to break the frames, but with a little practice it got easier and now its old hat. Love them!

Can Parallel Max lenses be used in the Parallel D-Max frames and vice versa?
Thanks.

The overall shape of the lens is different but the contact points are the same - should work, but will affect the fit.

Nice product

Bought these to use for mountain biking. Easy switch of lenses for cloudy or sunny days. Great polarized lens.

Great active wear sunglasses

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these for my Father to wear as both a daily driver set of sunglasses and as semi-protective wear while at the gun range. The fit is spectacular- for those with thinner faces, the weight is minimal to nonexistent, and the fact that they come with 3 interchangeable lenses is just a bonus. I've picked up a pair for myself since and I use them while out on my road bike. The ability to change from clear, to yellow, to rose lenses at different times of the day is absolutely awesome! I've recommended these to everyone as a great all around/do it all pair of sunglasses since then.

I just bought these to replace some max's that I recently lost. UPS just dropped them off 5 minutes ago and I can't believe BC is now sold out - I got the last pair! WINNING! These look f****** awesome! I look like one bada** mot*** f***** in these sons of b******!

Great action sport sunglasses

I bought these sunglasses for my wife to wear while mountain biking. She is on the small side, yet these glasses still fit well. She has not had any problems with fogging or slipping. The extra lenses make these sunglasses useful for a variety of light conditions.

Awesomesauce

I have had these glasses for approximately a month now, and have put off writing a review until now, because when I first received them, I was in love. I figured that I would wait until the honeymoon was over so I could give an honest opinion about them.

That being said, I purchased these glasses for use while specifically Hiking, Mtn. Biking, Trail Running, and every day use. I have tested the glasses out while doing all of the mentioned activities, and could not be more pleased. I have gone through many sets of sunglasses in my day, and have found the following pros with the Smith Parallel D-Max Sunglasses:

I have a medium size face, and these glasses have perfect coverage and I find no light coming in through the sides.
The nose pads are comfy, and during my tested activities, I have not noticed any slipping or pinching. I also don’t get the annoying red “pad marks” on each side of the nose.

There have not been any “foggy” moments even when I am sweating like mad.
The Evolve frames are very light, and don’t give you a heavy feeling around the ears/nose. The frames are also very durable, and I have put them through abuse so far.

I ordered the black frames, with Gray, Ignitor, and Clear lenses. The Gray lenses are fit for sunny days, and when it turns cloudy, I just swap them out for the Ignitor which prove to be perfect protection for overcast days. I have not used the clear lenses often, but have found that late night bikes rides with the clear lenses provide optimal “Anti-Bug in the Eyes” defense.

All in all, these glasses have surpassed my expectations, and continue to be worth the money I paid for them.
I cannot write a review and not shout out to Backcountry.com and their awesome dedication to customer service and unreal selection and prices. TY

Three lenses are Sweet

This is a great pair of glasses that comes with three sets of lenses so I am ready for all light conditions. The pair that comes in it is Polarized and then the Ignitor (rose) lens is perfect for morning and evening rides. Even though I do not use the clear lens as much, it is great to have for after dark activities. D-Max is great for my big head.
