Strap on the Smith Maze Skullcandy Audio Helmet and say your goodbyes to bulky, restricting head protection and ski days minus musical accompaniment. Smith sent the Maze to ninja school during its production—the result is epic protection and low-profile stealth. The Maze Helmet’s AIREVAC 2 ventilation prevents post-hike or mid-run gogg-fog and keeps you from melting top-down like and ice cream cone when you get the blood flowing. Skullcandy’s luscious audio system floats on your head so lightly that you’ll feel like a music-powered cyborg while you ride or ski—the Maze and the tunes are that light and un-inhibiting, they are also awesome and rad.
Bottom Line: If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were wearing a ninja on your head.
I am a big fan of this helmet, I have really liked how light as feathers it is so you don't even notice it sometimes. I also use it for biking around town and as a multifunctional helmet it is very useful and safe. The sound system is legit, so you can bump tunes and get in the zone when you need to. I also like how Skullcandy created an integrated mic, so I can easily pick up and make calls while spinning off jumps and rails. I would recommend this helmet for everyone, especially park riders who want to have a clean look that is simple and functional.
Picked this up this year and really liked it. Not perfect though. It fits perfect for my head and is quite light. The sound quality is good, not great.
The only down side I found is that the ear flaps flair out a little so wind can hit my ear lobes.
I had a Pro-Tec B2 before this and the fit is better, the look is better and the sound is better. The speakers on the Pro-Tec gave out after a year and I looked like a SpaceBall wearing the Pro-Tec. The Maze is much lower profile.
Did not notice if it can be removed or not but you can put the goggles under the helmet either way. But you will never be able to take them off with out removing the whole helmet. Goggles sit nicely on the front of the helmet when you want some air flow to the face. Somthing you couldnt do if you had the strap on the inside...

Fits great and warm, even when it was -2 in Jackson Hole... Vents open from the inside on warmer days. Speakers sound great at low levels. I keep it low so I can talk to freinds and hear people around me.
The helmet was pretty decent, warm, not too bulky; didnt whack my head (plenty of opportunity as we were in trees a lot at Powder Mountain in Utah) so cant vouch for the protection. The goggle strap holder in the back was a little flimsy; cheap plastic? The Skull Candy audio didnt work that well. Maybe it was the cold but it seemed one earpiece would go in and out, sort of randomly; when i turned my head or made any movement it would just cut out. Overall, nothing exceptional about the helmet. You can probably find a less expensive helmet and get the same performance.
Sound is ok. But the Smith Bluetooth ear pads are loud and clear. This Helmet is AWESOME. Lightest on the Market and super Comfortable. It is like your wearing a big hat. 100% Recomendation.
i used the helmet tons...the audio wasn't an issue for me at all...if you're having issues go back to where you got it and tell them to switch out the ear pieces, it shouldnt be happening!
I bought this helmet mid season because I trashed my other at the local mountain. This was a GREAT buy! Its wicked light, fits my head perfect and the audio is loud enough to hear the music but still able to hear the people around me. Overall, its a great helmet and would recommend it to anybody.
This is my second helmet my first was a Scott and they are comparable. I got this for the audio which is great. No more loose ear buds. I did have a bad audio controller. Backcountry sent me another one asap. Freeling heeling now
The helmet looks good and looks just like the picture. The sizing indicated on this site though for Smith helmets is wrong. I ordered a large because my head is 61 cm and the site says Large runs from 59-63 cm. When I got the helmet, however, it didn't fit so I checked the box and it said Large 58-60 cm. For some reason the sizing is wrong on this site. So if your head is bigger than 60 cm and you're thinking of getting a smith helmet, order an XL.
I have been using the helmet for a few weeks now. Definitely super light and minimalist( which I like), comfortable, and warm. The sound is good. The volume doesn't go up to what my ipod earphones go up to, but I assume that is a safety concern. Other than the volume the audio is great. The earpads are perfectly centered on my ears, unlike some other audio I tried, where the earpads were not where you want them. But that all has to do with head shape. My only gripe is the goggle clip, it is just that a clip, it doesn't snap down to really hold your goggle strap. It is a feature I like, so when you remove your helmet with the goggles up they don't slip off the back and fall down.
