Great lightweight helmet. You won't feel like a bobblehead. Fits nicely with my Oakley A-frames, other smaller oakley frames, as well as my gf's Smith's. The matte black is not shiny and is nicely muted. I like it much better than my old Giro G10. Have skied in all conditionsand haven't had an issue with overheating. Also, can fit a balaclava under with ease

Bought the Maze for winter biking (daily commute). 5 hours after unboxing it brand new, I got demolished by a van running a red light. I know these helmets aren't engineered for cycling in particular, but I think the difference between pavement at 30mph and solid ice or rocks at 30mph is negligible. Somehow I landed on my head and left shoulder, with my helmet taking most of the impact. I don't have much experience with the Maze but while I loved the helmet for it's adjustable air flow, perfect fit, and extremely light weight.. I love it even more for saving my brains. Needless to say I bought another Maze that same day.

My head was never cold and it fits perfect. After a little while you won't even notice you're wearing it. I wear a 7.5" New Era fitted and the large fits nicely.
So comfy and light!

I happy to say I don't have one of the ridiculous, near death, crushed helmet photos like below but I'm not about to risk it either. These helmets will save your life and keep your mom happy!
Great helmet!

Just got back into wearing a helmet this season and honestly it's already saved my neck a few times. I would recommend this helmet for anybody who wants a little added protection.
Great helmet, light at cost of fit

This is a great helmet and works great with smith goggles. That being said, the light weight does come at the cost of fit. Other smith helmets seem to be, imho, more comfortable, but also heavier. Other than that though, its got a low profile and I never leave it at home when I'm hiking as it is really light.
Looks rad and feels rad too

Of all smith helmets the Maze is def my favorite. super lightweight and comfortable, the maze not only will save your life but also looks dang good while you do it. I like how perfectly it fits as well, its almost like its not even there. combined with the I/O or even the phenom goggle and it truly is a perfect fit. i usually go with the I/O, but phenom rocks too. cosmetically smith is kicking butt too, the goggles match the helmet with unique color combo's, and each year they get more creative.
The other great thing is the conversion for different sports. i use my Smith Maze for Skiing, BASE Jumping, skateboarding, climbing, etc. in the summer just pop off the ear pads and your good to go. its a great bike helmet as well.
As for POV cameras the Maze takes the curved GoPro mount perfectly, you can put multiple mounts on the helmet too. other cams work great on the Maze, although i recommend GoPro.
well done Smith Optics!

I've officially converted to wearing a helmet everyday on the slopes. As light and comfortable as the Smith Maze is, I just can't find a good reason not to wear it!

I quit wearing my last helmet because it was so uncomfortable and heavy. I decided that I would get this one because it is 11oz or something. Well, I couldn't be happier. I wear it every day I ride now and don't even notice it. Great helmet. Note that I was a little bummed by the actual color of the "Gunmetal Once Percenter", it is more like a carpaint silver than the black that it looks like in the picture. I would have gotten a different color if I had known, but I just threw a bunch of goat stickers on it and now it looks sick.

I picked up the Maze this season, and couldn't believe how great it was. Super lightweight- but you never feel as if that compromises your head. I've taken a couple of real hard hits, and was super happy the Maze was there to break the fall. I've always been a firm believer in Smith products, and this is no exception. Love the way it fits (no earpads, but a beanie/goggles underneath), looks, and makes you feel a whole lot safer! Would definitely recommend it.

The lightness of this helmet is its key. I've had this on my pack while touring and compared to the Smith Variant it shaves a little more than a bit of weight. The padding design on the inside is comfortable as well and the zipper used to upgrade to an audio system is clever without getting in the way.
The styling of the helmet with most of the Smith goggles is also very appealing without going overboard (I don't like helmets that have the World War 2 look). Hard to fault anything on this, which means buy it now and protect your domepiece stylishly.

I absolutely hate helmets, but if you're gonna wear one, this is the lightest, most comfortable option out there. Still looks like a bubble on top of your head, but it's better than brain damage.
