Smith I/O X Interchangeable Goggle - Photochromic

When I sought ought buying a goggle, I wanted interchangeable lens on an awesome anti-fog goggle. Then I asked, who the F* wants to keep a spare lens in their pocket / stop to change a lens / touch their darn goggles at all. So I bought these, absolutely love the things. No idea why more people don't ride with photocroms.

I can't say enough about how great I think Smith really is. They have absolutely terrific customer service to start with.

But these goggles are what seems like indestructable. They've survived more face plants than I can count. I personally love the blackout lenses that they make for bright days and the rose lens for flatter light.

I typically get a new pair every season just because I'm a bit of a gear snob but I have pairs in great shape from five seasons ago. Super quality product!

These things are just wow. I have a larger face and these fit extremely well compared to my old goggles. No gapping; they come up to the edge of the helmet and still cover everything else they need to. The strap silicone backing keeps them on the helmet very well.



I had no fogging issues whatsoever or any leaks aside from the occasional breath coming back at me which would quickly dissipate when going down a run; this was in combination with a built in mask on the Volcom EX 4-way jacket. Periphery is quite good and the photochromic lens seem to do their job. Transitions were easier to see, the world was not yellow, and contrast in general was much more enhanced. Haven't had the pleasure to test them out in more variable conditions yet or use the blackout lens, but from a friend's recommendation I doubt I'll be unpleasantly surprised.



I am very pleased with these goggles; Smith did a great job.

The photochromic lens is great for storm days when the sun tries to peak its head out, but I will say that I wore them on a sunny day and my eyes hurt. Not a quiver of one lens. The lowlight contrast is really noticable and when I take the goggles off I am always surprised by how dark it "really" is out. I have only had lens fogging issues on ridiculously cold days when my breath gets redirected into my face on the first few runs. After I clear away the frost/fog one time they are usually good to go for the rest of the day. Must be an equilibrium thing. I didn't expect to use the other lens that came with the goggles for sunny conditions (I already had a pair of Zeal polarized goggles) but, they fit so well and the lens is so easy to exchange that I use these goggles exclusively now. I have a small face and was worried about how big they are, but they fit great and there peripheral vision is noticeable.

Gave as a gift to my sister and she likes it, says the lens is rad, but the fit was bigger than she was expecting. If you're looking for a smaller goggle, maybe try another smith model!

Photo chromatic lenses are nothing shy of the be best! It's awesome that these are so easily interchangeable but honesty with this lens you don't change lenses. But it is a good way to dry them out.No more sittin at the car with 3 different lenses for three types of conditions. It works for cloudy,snowy,bluebird,lowlight any type of weather.and on top of that you have a killer frame with great peripheral vision. Some of the most advanced anti fog technology. It is 5 x anti fog. It has a small micro filter that allows moisture to escape if gets in between your lenses..and don't forget that smith has your back..smith makes quality and they know it that's why they offer a great warranty on there product

I used these goggles now for about 10 days of skiing and I have to say they are pretty awesome. The photochromic lens works really well. Probably the best lens I have ever had for dark conditions (snowing/low light). They also work very well in changing light conditions. I use them with a smith helmet and the fit is perfect (Large helmet).
