She loves 'em
- Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I gave these as a gift and she loves them. She's had a hard time finding goggles to fit. She likes the green sol-x lens is good for sunny days.
Great bang for your buck!
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
These goggles are tied for the best I've owned (I also like the Anon M2 a lot). Changing lenses is super easy, they are very durable, and provide a great field of vision. I highly recommend them for people who need a medium frame goggle.
Awesome for the smaller face
I got these as a Christmas present for my lady friend. She has a smaller face and the IOS is a great option for her. They fit really well and are super comfortable. She loves the way they look and how easy it is to swap out lenses.
Best goggles ever!
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
These goggles are awesome! I got the leopard print strap with blackout and red sensor mirrored lenses. These are perfect and easy to switch out. The red sensor mirrored lenses are perfect for cloudy, flat light days and the blackout is awesome for super sunny days. The lenses are really easy to change out. I never had any issues with fogging up my lenses either... oh and they're super comfortable on your face. You won't regret this purchase!
10/10

Best goggles I've ever owned! Changes lenses is so easy, fits perfectly with Smith Helmet. Would recommend!
Best Goggles you will ever own!
I LOVE these! They are very comfortable and designed very well. The extra lenses are great for when you need to swap high light or low light lenses. And the technology of the lenses helps so they don't fog up. I recommend these to everyone!
Great Goggles
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
So far I am very happy with my purchase. These goggles offer a huge field of vision, but without taking over my face. I have a Marker Kojak helmet and have been presently surprised at how well the fit is. With these goggles being specifically designed to be paired with Smith helmets I was not expecting a good fit. There is a bit of goggle gap, but not enough to allow a lot of cold air flow. I have only had problems with my goggles fogging when my Buff is around my nose and I am breathing heavy, which is to be expected with most goggles.
Solid
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
I use the goggles with the Smith Aspect helmet (Small) and the fit is okay. I tried on my friend's Smith I/O X and those reduced the gap with the helmet, so even if you have a small/medium face, you may want to consider sizing up on goggles to get a tighter helmet fit.
The goggles will fog up if my neck gaiter is high and pushing warm air up, but the fogging usually dissipates quickly if I push the gaiter down for a bit.
The interchangeable lens system is a little cumbersome and results in fingerprints on the inside and outside of the lens, but gets the job done.
Nice gogs
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
Are these woman's?? haha, I liked the color and style. Yes, I did have a bit of fogging issues, but it wasn't that bad. I wear a size 7.25 hat and have a narrowish face and they fit like a glove (What do you say when a glove fits good?).
Switching the lenses was a breeze. If you read reviews and not instructions like me, make sure you turn the side clips :/. The bright lens wasn't enough on a white out day at Big Sky. Guess what? The manufacturer, Smith, didn't supply the local shops with different lenses other than the ones it comes with because they claim those are good enough for any conditions. I almost had to buy another pair of gogs on the mountain so I could board the bowl at Big Sky. WHAT? I like the goggles tho.
Not as good as last years
- Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
These goggles function pretty well as a whole and do everything they say they should. The quick release lens system is incredibly easy to operate, the QuickFit Strap Adjustment is easy to use on the go, and they are very comfortable but unlike last years design, these have a huge tendency to fog up. After speaking with someone at the resort, apparently this is an issue they are seeing regularly with the 2015 lenses which apparently have a different construction than the 2014 model and fog up more often and more easily. Everything else about the goggles is great and the bonus lens is always a plus but it is unfortunate to see that Smith decided to change the construction to something that doesn't work as well.
I was going to purchase these goggles/lenses until I read this. Is this confirmed that the new Smith I/O lenses tend to fog up more than the previous construction?
Hey Andrew,
Check out the reviews on Smith's website here:
http://www.smithoptics.com/us/Root/Men's/Goggles/Snow/I-O-X/p/IL7NXVG16
It looks like there are mixed reviews. Some say that fogging is a constant issue, other claim the fogging is not an issue at all. I am going to contact Smith when I can to inquire further about the issue and will post the results here.
Great visibility
- Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Gave this to the little sister for Christmas and she is in love. She loves the field of view, the lack of fogging, and how easy it is to switch out her lenses. They look awesome and fit well with her Smith Vantage helmet.
Solid Goggles
Overall I like these goggles a lot. They are large enough that you have a good range of vision, but they don't feel huge on your head. It's also nice how they come with low light lenses too. It is very easy to swap out the lenses. The strap is woolrich, which gives it a unique look. They will fog up a bit if I'm breath heavily into my neck warm and it's up above my nose- but that's hard to avoid. Overall I'm very happy with the goggles. I'd definitely recommend them.
Too big
- Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
These are supposed to be medium fit for a woman. I am an average woman, and these are too big. They do not fit snugly against my face. The air that comes in is cold on my eyes, and makes them water so tears run down my face. Pretty disappointed that this is the smallest fit they have right now in this new style.
Solo goggles on my Face
Been loving these for years!
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
There are totally my go-to goggles. Been using them for years now. Love the fit on my face and with my Smith Maze helmet. Can't go wrong!
First impression
Just got these goggles today. They have an amazing fit, very comfortable. They also look really good on me, as I do have a small face. That's what convinced me to buy them, from what I heard about them being a smaller goggle. Was a little tricky changing the lens the first time, but after a few tries it was pretty easy. I'm super excited to use these this winter. Will post an update later in the season!
Great Goggs
Use these for ski touring. I would have probably gone with the normal I/O for the resort, but find them a little too large when touring. Great peripheral vision and all types of lenses for all lighting conditions. Highly recommended!
Awesome goggles!
I purchased these at the end of the ski season and wore them for the first time on a flat light day on the east coast. I had to switch out the lenses for flat light lense, and it was very easy! I did have to watch a youtube video to figure out how to change the lenses but once I did so it was a quick process! I purchased the pastel camo style and am really happy with the colors and style. And as everyone else has said, these goggles are great for small faces. Would definitely recommend!
Run small
- Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
Very nice goggles, but they do definately run small and are for a smaller size face. I'm going to exchange them for the Smith I/OX goggles.
Best Goggle For Skinny Faces
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
Skinny face? Buy this goggle now. The fit is something I've been searching for for a long, long time. Not just for girls!
Hi,
Love my smith goggles except for the fact that they're too narrow (the bend seems too sharp/angular for my head) I was wondering if there was a way to stretch them a little bit so the curve is flatter.
thanks!
michael,
There really isn't a way to "flatten" out the curve of the googles. I would recommend looking at the I/O 7 or the I/Ox as those are made for large faces and have a similar design
Where I live (and ski) there is either flat light or very bright bluebird days, not really anything in between. My goggles are definitely outdated and I want to invest in a great pair this year. What is the best lens option on these goggles for those conditions? Thanks in advance!
Hey Kelley,
Each option for the Smith I/O S Goggles comes with two lenses, usually one low light and one bright light. My favorite Smith lenses are the Green Sol-X (sunny days) and the Red Sensor Mirror (cloudy/snowy days). I have purchased these goggles for almost every lady in my family (plus I have the I/O and I/O7) so feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

Are these goggles just more narrow or also smaller from forehead to nose? I'm looking for a goggle I can wear Fat Tire biking. The problem with my Oakley A-Frame and Giro Nine helmet is when I lean into the biking position, the back of the helmet pushes forward, which pushes the goggles down and smashes my nose! These have been rated for great breathability but I'm still worried about smashing my nose. Otherwise I'm looking at either the Giro Field http://www.backcountry.com/giro-field-goggles-womens -or- Smith Virtue http://www.backcountry.com/smith-virtue-goggle-womens?s=a
Can anyone offer and help or measurements on the goggle from top/forehead to top of cut out for the nose?
Not very narrow or small at all. Too big for me - I'm an average sized woman with a slightly smaller than average face.
Do these come with two lenses?
Do these come with two lenses?
Hi there Jack,
Yep! All of the ones currently in stock do come with an extra lens (all will be the Red Sensor Mirror with the exception of the Stay Rad frame color, which comes with the Blue Sensor Mirror).

Are these goggles compatible with the RECON HUD system?
To my knowledge that system integrates with the band as well as the lenses and is only available on the I/O set up.

I need a pair of goggles that I can wear my eyeglasses under. Can you recommend goggles made to allow eyeglasses?
Each manufacturer has goggles that are eyeglass friendly. A quick look at Smiths website will run you thru the options. Look for the OTG which is over the glass. This is the address: http://www.smithoptics.com/products/#/Snow+Goggles/Over+The+Glass+OTG/
Will the Green Sol X lens work when its...
Will the Green Sol X lens work when its dumping out and theres not a lot of sun light. Graybird days
It would work but, it definitely is not the best option for flat/ low light conditions. It only lets through 15% of the light so its most suitable for a brighter day. Take a look at the sizing chart for a complete description of Smith's different lens tints.
