easiest lens change out i've used. i have the ignitor mirror and the extra sensor mirror- which i found both to be great for low light - but neither are really excellent for bright-bright (yes-i meant to say it twice) light - like super blue-bird days. might have to go with an entirely different lens.
Need to get different lenses

I have worn these with the flat light lenses and it doesn't seem to help on the mountain. Also, there is a vent at the bottom and if its a windy day the wind blows right up making your eyes water...Waiting to find the perfect flat light lenses for this google. easy to interchange.

These Goggles Rock!

Just got back from 10 days @ Whistler and these goggles were amazing. Started out with bluebird conditions, which the black ignitor mirror was perfect for, then the warm front came in with powder/heavy snow in the alpine and spring skiing/rain below mid-mountain with periods of dense white out conditions. I easily swapped out the lens for the red sensor mirror and the visibility was near perfect...never fogging up once! I cannot say how happy I am with this purchase and feel I truly put these goggles through the ringer with just about every weather condition possible.
Cheers,
Deanna

I love these goggles. They fit my face and helmet perfectly and never fog up. Swapping the lenses in and out is really simple. Great product for women because of the smaller size.

Are these goggles compatible with the RECON HUD system?

To my knowledge that system integrates with the band as well as the lenses and is only available on the I/O set up.
Perfect style for smaller faces

I'm on my third season of I/OS and never looking back. Not only does it fit perfectly on a smaller face, the quality is what keeps me coming back. The 5x anti-fogging lenses make it perfect for hiking in what can be nasty Wyoming weather, allowing me to keep my goggles on while I hike without fogging up.

I need a pair of goggles that I can wear my eyeglasses under. Can you recommend goggles made to allow eyeglasses?

Each manufacturer has goggles that are eyeglass friendly. A quick look at Smiths website will run you thru the options. Look for the OTG which is over the glass. This is the address: http://www.smithoptics.com/products/#/Snow+Goggles/Over+The+Glass+OTG/

I love these goggles! I purchased them during the 2011/2012 season and have not had a single problem thus far. I thought the two lenses that came with the goggles were great for flat light and snowy/foggy days. I should mention that in 1.5 seasons I have skied at Big Mountain in MT also known as "fog mountain" a great many times and not had a single visibility problem in the thick stuff. I did notice towards the end of the 2012 season that I needed a lens for bright sunny days. While I wanted to get the polarized lens it seemed to be unavailable for purchase everywhere I looked. So I opted for the Gold Sol-X lens which has been awesome on bluebird days! I wear these over my POC skull light women's helmet and the fit is perfect. I've found that because of the goggles buckle in the back some people may struggle a little to secure the strap with an integrated goggle clip on their helmet though this has not been a major issue for me. I like how the grip strips on the inside of the strap help the goggles stay in place. Changing the lenses takes a little practice but I felt totally comfortable after a few tries. Some may disagree but I don't trust my hands to change the lens while on the chairlift. I also love that if a lens gets seriously scratched it is easy to replace. The Smith website is very helpful in deciphering the difference between some of the lenses. The bag that comes with the goggles is partitioned so when they are in there, the extra lens can be included in the neighboring sleeve. It is amazing what enhanced peripheral visibility can do for ones confidence charging down a mountain. I love the fit with my helmet, the additional visibility on the sides as well as being able to change the lens with the conditions. No complaints, highly recommended!!!

I bought the I/OS last month for my wife. The first goggle arrived with a big scratch on the lens around where the nose bridge sits. The RMA was quick, but the replacement now has problems of its own. After a 7-day trip to Whistler, the "bottom" edge of the strap connected to the triangular frame clip is sagging on each side. The goggle is paired with a small Variant helmet, so it's not like the strap was stretched by a gorilla. One of the tension buckles also popped out twice while fitting. So I secured it with tape to make sure it didn't get lost on the slopes.
The goggle is going back for a refund. It's a shame really because my wife loves the fit and lens of the I/OS.

This is literally the first review I've ever written- loved these so much that I wanted to share my thoughts. Super easy to switch out lenses; had to do a couple times on the trip and was impressed every time. Field of view is exceptional and crisp; also really easy to clean. I have a wide face and a square jaw line, and I think I rocked 'em. Hubby got the I/OX's and also loved them. Much bigger than the I/OSs- I tried his on and they were def too large for my face. Now I need to change out my helmet as I didn't love how it looked with the goggles; it was time anyway!

I opted for the I/OS since I have a narrow face and usually have a hard time finding sunglasses that aren't too wide. I love Oakley products but the hype about the Smith I/O swayed me this direction. I don't regret it. The fact that they come with a second lens is also a bonus. I have yet to scratch the one on them though. They're comfortable and don't fog up. Highly recommended.

Originally purchased the I/OS model, but I returned them because they were too small for my helmet (Smith Vantage). Size-wise, the I/OS goggles are fit really well on the face.
My only other dislike I have is this: the I/OS mirrors are not as easy to switch as the I/O model.

I was an Oakley person before getting my hands on the IO and I have been won over. Although I was not sold at first, I love them now! The lenses are great for high and low light, they do not fog, and the fit is perfect. I would definitely only recommend the IOS to a small faced individual, but it is perfect if you need something a tad more narrow then the traditional goggle.
Best I've owned!

I initially ordered the i/os because I have a pretty small head (6 7/8 hat size) and they fit ok the nose piece didn't feel right so I ordered the i/o and they are way more comfortable. I would give the foam a 8/10 especially compared to the foam that Oakley uses; its not as wide, so more pressure(?) and feels a little more dense, aside from that getting essentially 2 goggles, and being able to change lenses easily is awesome. Another interesting note is that I crashed and got snow inside the goggles but since the lens is rubber sealed (vs dense foam like oakley between the layers) I went into the lodge rinsed them with water/ patted dry and was good to go again
Still big

I love the look of these goggles and the HUUUUGE viewing window that provides unparalleled peripheral vision. I thought I could make the I/OS work for me, but my small face ruined the day.
I have a really tiny head (had to buy a children's size helmet) and the I/OS despite being marketed for smaller faces was still too 'buggy'. I looked like a baby fly zooming around, so I regretfully returned these. I wished with all my soul that they had worked, but it was not to be.
If you have a super petite face, these probably aren't going to work for you if you want to avoid the bug-eye look. If you can rock it, then sweet...go for it. But it didn't jive for me.
Best goggle!

I bought a pair of these for myself and one as a gift. I absolutely love them. They are by far the best goggles I have ever owned. Visibility is amazing and it takes a lot for them to fog up. Switching out the lenses is a piece of cake (although I must admit I had to watch a video to figure it out). Overall I would recommend these for anyone who wants a great goggle!
