Hudson Sunglasses - Polarized

The Smith Hudson Polarized sunglasses are lightweight and styled to fit the hip life. Carbonic lenses block 100% of UV rays, and won't shatter on you should you take a spill in whatever extreme sport you happen to be involved with when you wear them. The polarization reduces 99% of reflected glare, which enhances visual acuity and reduces eye fatigue. A smooth silver "S" logo adorns the sides of these shades, subtle, but noticeable enough to clue people into what style you're sporting. This model has a Grilamid nylon frame which is rugged, resilient, strong, flexible, lightweight and retains its shape.

Bottom Line: Shade your peepers like a rock star with a pair of Hudson sunglasses.

these things hold up

By:
October 6, 2009

I have two pairs of Hudsons, with one being the polarized tortoise pair. This pair has held up for two and a half years so far, which is pretty good considering the abuse. The fit feels medium, not too big, but big enough to give good coverage. Great for the river (just use some straps or chums) and driving. These things have survived class V swims, being buried in the snow in a friend's yard for 5 months, banging into chainrings working on bikes, and falling off my head. the only thing that Smith could improve on is to make an interlock version of the Hudson.

Not as crazy as they look

By:
September 18, 2008

I was worried that these would be too big and too trendy 90210 style, but they are just the right amount of steeze for this school teacher. These come with a sweet leather case also.

Black polarized Hudsons

By:
April 19, 2007

This is my first pair of "premium" sunglasses and I'm happy with them. The lens clarity is worth the price and because there's very little distortion, I wear them more than any other sunglasses I've had before. I did have an issue with the polarization coating coming off one lens, but the awesome customer service at Backcountry.com made it an easy fix. They had a new pair shipped to me while we were on the phone and then sent me a return shipper. I'd buy the sunglasses again and I will definitely buy more stuff from Backcountry.com.

Very nice glasses

By:
August 17, 2009

A little narrow across the eyes if you have a very large head but for almost everyone, I think they would be a good fit. I have had these for 2 years or so and it's amazing how nice they clean up. They are very scratch resistant and what great clear lenses...I think I will stick with Smith Optics from now on.

I have the non polarized ones, and they are cool. If I had to do it again I definitely would have gone with the Polarized.

Durable, Great clarity!!

By:
December 22, 2008

I have worn the same pair almost daily for 3 years and now they are finally stretching out, but they are still sick river glasses. The polarized lenses offer reduced glare in most situations, especially good for any river rats out there, or just for driving around as well. I prefer glass lenses normally, but these have held up very well for being moderately well taken care of. I contacted Smith and they are sending me a new pair free of charge because they are stretched out! I have a Large size head and they work for me!

Clarity with style

Rad glasses for those that care about looking good, but the impressive part is really in the polarized lens. These things are super clear, and a pleasure to wear. A must buy.

Stylish comfort and performance

By:
July 12, 2004

I have been looking for a pair of sunglasses that were stylish and functional with good protection. The Smith Hudson Polarized sunglasses that I have bought more than meet those requirements. They are exceptionally comfortable and light. The gray lens is less of a strain on the eyes and provides for a sharp and unaltered view without the glare.

Great Purchase!

By:
April 25, 2005

Bought for the sole purpose of riding – it works great for that! One word of caution, when riding at high speeds, don’t look down to check how fast you're going - sunglasses blew right off - BUT survived the crash without a scratch. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fashionable yet functional pair of shades!

Smith Hudson Polarized

Great lenses. Well worth the extra $35 to step up from the lesser version. Also, must throw accolades on this site for being so easy to deal with. Found other sunglass websites to be a pain in rear.

Great

By:

Great glasses. Very clear lenses. Stylish. I like the fit too. Only thing I wish was the lenses were more durable because I am a klutz. But I wish that about all sunglasses! Can't beat the price for great polarized sunglasses.

Awesome

By:
August 17, 2005

I owned a pair of Hudsons previously that I lost and decided to buy the polarized version. I owned these for 3 years before losing them and absolutely love them. I'm a lifeguard in CA and used them every day. They made it through everything: dropped on concrete, sand, lost in ocean. Having them polarized makes a huge difference, I recommend it.
In short, awesome sunglasses, get a pair.

I think the person who wrote the other review on these must have a huge head, which these are not for. I liked them so much I got the same for my everyday prescription glasses.
