Light and durable
Excellent backcountry helmet which is light but durable.

I bought my son, 9, the helmet to ski in this winter and need directions to configure the summer pads for spring uses. Are the directions on line somewhere?
As far as removing the pads they are attached by Velcro, you should be able to just remove them..the thinest pads that came with it would be ideal for spring. They should all just come un-Velcroed and you'll be set.
Great dome bucket. Comfortable and it look sick on (for a helmet). Looks good and keeps you warm. Got the smith holt audio kit with it and is very functional.

Has anbody used the Electric Eg 2 goggles with the Holt helmet, if so do the fit well?
This helmet is quite small and the Eg2 is HUGE so the combination is perfect! you might have to wear the goggles a bit low, but if the goggle fits with a helmet this is it! Hope it helped!
Bought it for whistler 3/08 trip and it fit perfect. Went with the black matte in large. Only wish it came with a helmet bag. While getting a bite to eat around whistler village, I had it connected to my backpack and it got a little scuffed up.
Keeps your skull from cracking like a coconut.
It's my first actual season boarding. Makes my head look huge but who cares. It's protected my head quite a few times when I wiped out. It's very light and quite comfortable and works any type of goggles (I have one Smith and one Oakley).
Basic and Good
Good basic, well priced helmet. Got mine like 2 years back at a ski show, and recently got Dragon Mace goggles and they fit perfect with the helmet. I agree with many that the helmet loses the feel of being on after a while. I sue mine for skiing here in New England, and it has proven well against the wind and cold, but very slightly sometimes I feel the wind by my ears, but that is on crazy days of skiing. Good buy overall. I give it a 4-5 due to it being basic and the fact that SOMETIMES it is not enough to keep me warm. But other than that, worth it. I would recommend it.

Hey out there, I just ordered one in an XL (Matte White because I wanna possibly paint my own designs onto it...) but I'm curious if I should have just gone with a L? I hear people sayin it fits their huge noggins great, but I'm curious if they altered their regular size choice at all for this product? Typically I would wear an XL (Giganto Dome) so I got that again this time. Good move??
I have a big melon and XL fits me just right, L would be definintely too small. I also wear motorcycle helmets in either XL or XXL range - depending on manufacturer... Hope it helps
Anyobdy used this with Smith Prodigy...
Anyobdy used this with Smith Prodigy goggles? I would assume that Smith would design all of their lids to work well with all of their goggs, but I wanted to make sure.
I tried it with Phenom and they fit perfect, I imagine other Smith goggles will work well with this helmet. As long as they are kinda flat across the top they should fit very well. My favorite (Oakley) goggles don't fit as well as the Smiths I have found.
just got back from park city utah. this helmet was amazing! i forgot i had it on! great styling and very warm! liner was easy to wash. combines flawlessly with smith goggles!
it's a helmet. pretty basic, but does the job. worked well with my goggles. wasn't too bulky. good purchase.
Anyone use these with Spy Orbits or Oakley...
Anyone use these with Spy Orbits or Oakley O Frames?
This was my first helmet. I got it after smacking my head pretty hard, thought it would be worth it. This thing looks cool, keeps my head cool (removable ear pads) and best of it fits my oversize noggin. Worth every cent!!
This Brain Bucket Is Kick A__
It fits great, feels great, protects great, and looks great. I don't even notice I have it on. This is my most fave helmet I have ever owned.
Which color is better for a black, Matte...
Which color is better for a black, Matte or Gloss? I have black frames with a gold mirror.
I got the black matte finish and personally I love it, plus the little goldish/brown emblem on the helmet will match your goggles.
be careful, you may forget you even have it on
Very light helmet. Fits my XL head way better than the Red HiFi. Many times, I've forgotten that i even have it on and end up knocking stuff with it.. its THAT comfortable and light The only reason i'm reminded i have it on are the really warm (removable) earpads Ventilation helps eliminate goggle fog
I've never worn a helmet, so this is my first. It's comfortable/lightweight and I barely notice I have it on. Works well with my Smith goggles. Removable vent covers and padding. Bargain for the price.
I've been using this helmet for the past winter and it has worked extremely well for me. I tried on helmets from all of the major brands (Giro, RED, Bern, etc) and this one definitely fit the best. It also works perfectly with the Smith Phenom goggles.
Nice fitting, comfortable. fits goggles easily. Haven't "tried it" yet. Funny how you need a helmet when you have one on, then you wear one and you just don't seem like you need it...
Great Helmet and the price is right. The fit is comparable to pro-tec in size. It is really comfortable and you can still hear reasonably.
