The District 2 Sunglasses take advantage of Smith's side-releasing interchangeable system to bring you some sleek sport shades you can wear everyday. Three pairs of Carbonic lenses allow you to tailor the District 2s to changing light conditions. When you want to switch tints, simply slide the lens towards the outside and it pops right out. These Smiths are extremely lightweight, impact resistant, and offer precise optical quality, so they're equally great to wear on the single track and the street.
Bottom Line: Smith's interchangeable lens series just got better.
On my second pair of these. Recently lost the first pair in the ocean. Had the first pair for over two years and they were still in great condition when I lost them. The pair I recently bought came with a sweet hard case and lens pockets. The lenses DO tend to eventually scratch up and de-tint around the edges where they slide in and out of the frames after a year or two. Also the rubber nose pads on make them slip down my nose when I'm sweating.
All that being said, these are BY FAR the most superior sunglasses I have EVER owner or worn. They go EVERYWHERE with me. I'm naked without them.
Totally stylin' shades for freakers and tweakers alike. Nice wrap design is lightweight and Smith's new side entry slider design makes lens changing fast and easy. These are wide shades; probably not suited for small faces.
Excellent shades for a medium to large faced female or male. They are comfortable and very functional for outdoor activity. A+++! Great product and great vendor.

I've owned multiple pairs of Smith sunglasses, and have loved them all. But lately I was in the market for a perfect "all-around" pair that would work for driving and hanging out, but that was also lightweight enough and high performance enough to use for frequent bike rides. I looked at multiple pairs, and the District Sunglasses fit my face well (small face), and didn't ride to high on the nose (small nose), and also didn't just look like racer, swoopy glasses (read: Theory) so they were good for hanging out, driving, and biking. My most favorite pair yet!
I haven't left the house without having these glasses propped on my head. The lenses do wonders in keeping out the sun's glare. Plus, I look sporty in them, whether I'm going off to climb or riding the subway. I will say the earpieces tend to feel like they're going to break off, even though I know they're quite substantial. I HIGHLY recommend these babies.
Two excellent points made in other reviews on this site - these shades are most certainly for the mid- to full-sized noggin, and the lens changes are MUCH easier than they have been in the past - the side exit path makes a world of difference, which should lead to fewer scratches on the lenses over time. And while the rubber pads on the nose and temples seem minimal, I think Smith did their research before releasing these - I took them through some pretty sweaty stuff, and they never so much as suggested that they'd slip off my nose under a heavy sweat.
These glasses held up beautifully during my last few months in Iraq. Very comfortable and stylish whether I was flying around in the field or wearing a suit during Embassy meetings.
I purchased these sunglasses for my husband. This is his first pair of sunglasses since he recently had eye surgery. These sunglasses are a combination of a lightweight durable frame and lenses that interchange allowing the glasses to fit any of the variety of needs and activities in which we participate; including skiing, fishing, mountain biking, and around town driving. I would recommend these glasses to anyone looking for flexibility and a great sports frame. Smith was the first brand I looked for since I personally own two other pairs of Smith sunglasses and would suggest Smith Slider sunglasses to anyone who is active or an outdoor enthusiast.
These are very nice sunglasses. The lenses are easy to slide in and out. The frames, while very light, are quite sturdy since I am pretty hard on sunglasses. I have a fat head and these glasses are very comfortable.
I love the design of the new Slider. The side-release lenses are far easier to remove than the older Slider designs, and lens scratches seem far less likely. The frame is SUPER light and comfortable to wear. The only drawback I've seen so far is the rubber grip on the ear pieces are so small to be pretty much useless.
