I'm stoked

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just bought em today and I love everything about them so far. A little on the heavy side, but heavy is good; heavy is reliable. Spring hinges seem to be high quality.

As others have said, they do fit a bit small, but that was a plus for me since I don't care for the "I have a windshield on my face" look. If you have a wide head, go with the windshield, otherwise these will probably fit you quite nicely.

Everything you want and more

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I'm on my second pair of Chemists, because the first pair eventually broke after I'd beaten the crap out of them for 3 or 4 years. They're some of the most durable shades I've seen, with nice rugged (but not excessively heavy] frames and a generally solid feel. The polarized lenses are also unreal--it's always a bummer to take them off, because the world doesn't look quite as good without them.

Favorite Pair

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:Runs small

These are some of my favorite pairs of sunglasses and I have liked them so much I am on my second pair, sadly my first pair was eaten by my black lab. I like how these sunglasses have a smaller frame so it does not look like you are wearing some bug eyed sunglasses. I have the black frame with the grey lenses and I love them. Since they are polarized they are great for any activity you do on the water by cutting down on glare. These glasses are also stylish enough to wear anytime you go outside. Since they have a smaller frame they might not fit the best for people that have a wider head.

Exactly what I was looking for...

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

The Chemist is one of those frames that is likely to look good on anyone. Just pick the color you like (I purchased the polarized black/violet split) and go! I'm considering getting a backup pair. Really sweet glasses, worth the price, just do it.

still sturdy

what can I say? I've had my chemists for about 4 seasons now. I've dropped them, sat on them, thrown them, drown them. They have fallen off cliffs, into the ocean, and been lost at the depths of my car. They are still standing! My go to sunnies for everyday activities. Once my pair dies (if that is even possible) you can betcha I'll be getting these exact same glasses again. They really are that cool, your grandma will even compliment you in these...mine did!

The Chemist

  • Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

The chemist ensures that not only will you be cooler than all the other science nerds - you will probably get a modeling contract too. Gave this to my man for his birthday and he looks hot. Love how the Smiths perform - they never scratch ..last forever and are excellent on your face. Do us all a favor and buy you a pair. I am such a diehard fan of Smith's you won't be disappointed

Can you really go wrong? I think unless your head is as big as a watermelon.. these shades are impossible to look anything other than ridiculously good in. And if your head is as big as a watermelon, you'll just have to wear goggles year round, sorry.

    Sweeeet glasses

This glasses get the job done. Look good on just about anyone. they are a little bit smaller frame than what the photo make them look. Love the double hinge so there is no strain on the hinge!! If you thinking about buying then just do it!

      Great Sunglasses, Expensive

These sunglasses look great, are durable, comfortable, and have great lenses. However, I'm not sure what makes any sunglasses worth more than $100. Ignoring the price these are great sunglasses. The lenses in mine have a slight blue tint, which somehow makes any day and any snow look prettier. Also, the lenses have popped out of mine when I've dropped them before which makes me wonder why Smith doesn't sell replacement lenses.

        Pretty Rockin Sunglasses

These are some of the better glasses I have bought for the price. They look and feel great. Definitely made cruising around the beach. Pretty darn good lenses on them too. I took them while fishing and they did great.

They do not have a padded nose and tend to slip if your doing something very active. Also, if you have a smaller face - I would probably try to find something else

When I first got them I was trying to figure out how they looked, but the lights weren't bright enough. So I asked my fashionista daughter and got a wicked stamp of approval.

As always, Smith comes through with divine craftsmanship, sick styling and a lifetime warranty. What's not to love. Scored the Stone Green off S&C for a steal (although you can find an older rendition @ departmentofgoods for a little less, one color.

Smith Chemist Sunglasses - Polarized Sunglasses

These are cool as! My choice for casual sunnies. Look awesome, and are awesome to look through also. The polarised lens makes for clear, crisp vision.
The style gets 5 stars too! I love these sunnies!

              Great Sunny

The Chemist is one of my favorite Smith glasses OF ALL TIME. I'd say I consistently wear this shade more than any other. I even toured in it all season-- worked well for that because they didn't fog as easily as a shade that shapes more to the curvature of your face. These look sweet on (totally classic look) and then they end up being a functional sunny too?... They're bitchin'

                Form over function

Smith is a sports sunglass company but these shades are good for driving and strutting around town, not fast paced action. They will slip off your head. That being said, they are really comfy with the spring loaded arms, the polarized lenses are crisp, and they are pretty trendy cool right now.

I'm not a Chemist but I'll rock em'

Love the Polarized lenses, they are fantastic. A little loose fitting but maybe it's just my face. Super stylish and always getting positive feedback on them. The overall style is fantastic and I love the look and feel of them!

What's going on with the studs on the front? They look a little flashy? Think I could just sharpie over them or something?
