Practical AND cute... win!!

LOVE it!

  • Gender: Female

After a wicked wreck with no helmet, I immediately purchased one. The reason I hadn't before is because I didn't want some 90-lb cueball sitting on top of my head making me swampy and giving me a headache. Enter the Allure... seriously, it's so light I forget I'm wearing it. Low profile, pretty colors (I've had teal and now have black) and SUPER warm due to the adorable fuzzy ear covers. Unless it's freeeezing and windy, I don't wear anything under it besides a bandana, and the bandana is really more to keep my hair from turning into a squirrel's nest than anything else. I wouldn't mind a few more vents, but that said I've never had a problem with fogging. At this price point, it wears like a much more expensive piece of equipment and it's worth every cent to keep your dome safe n sound!

It's as if you can't even feel it

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The best part of the Allure helmet is that you forget it's even on. There are so many ways you can adjust the fit, and once you get it perfect, there is never a question of should I wear a hat instead. The linings are always soft and warm, the helmet is incredibly light, and of course there is no need for concern over a gaper gap as the ios and io smith goggles fit perfectly.

Saved my skull!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I purchased my first Smith Allure helmet at the beginning of last season. I liked it because it was cute and low profile. A week ago I took a hard fall directly onto the back of my head. Cracked the back of the helmet but the helmet saved my skull! I just ordered another Smith Allure helmet to replace the cracked helmet!

Lightweight helmet!!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

It's been many years since I've purchased a new snowboarding helmet so I was quite impressed with how light this helmet was!!! The earpieces are very warm and soft and it's nice that they are removable for spring riding days. According to the size chart, I am a medium on the dot, however, I think it runs just a bit large and unfortunately does not come with extra pad inserts to make it more snug. I will be purchasing a beanie to wear underneath.

Does anyone have a good-fitting beanie that they wear underneath of the Allure?

Best Answer Responded on

I don't own the Allure and I'm not a girl, but I have a nice snug fitting helmet with decent insulation. When it gets super cold, I use a good, reasonably hi-tech form fitting beanie like the Mountain Hardware Zerna. The Zerna fits snugly so it works great under a helmet. It's got some holes by the ears so not all sound is blocked out. The Zerna is very wind resistant and I wear it alone all the time too. It comes in two sizes so it's not just some lame "one-size-fits-all" that rarely does.

I love this helmet. It's comfortable, warm, and fits very well.

I measure at 58.5cm. The sizing here suggests I should get a large, but Smith's website says a medium is up to 59cm. Which size should I go with?

Responded on

I'd go medium as you can take up that last .5cm of space with a beanie or even hair!

My head circumference is 56cm on the dot. The small fits 54-56, and the medium fits 56 - 58cm. Could I get away with a beanie in a small?

CassiusA,
The Smith Allure Helmet lines up very well with the sizing chart on this page. Especially if you plan on wearing a beanie of at least average thickness I would go with the medium here and use the fit adjustments to dial it in to perfection.

Good looking, snug fit

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

I bought this helmet as a Christmas present for a friend and she loves it. I was a bit torn between sizes and ended up getting her the Medium which was the right choice! It isn't too snug and she can wear a Beanie underneath.
Other than looks and fit she also loves how light the helmet is. She is not usually a helmet-wearer but wanted to get one to protect her noggin- this is a great first helmet because it is lightweight and not bulky, and on top of that it looks good!

Sorry about that. These pictures can be difficult to discern sometimes. The dusk color on the Smith Allure Helmet is a deep navy blue.

Awesome Helmet

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Admittedly, this is my first ski helmet - I finally broke down and decided it was time to be responsible and wear a helmet while skiing. This helmet was a great choice - it is super lightweight, has a low profile, and keeps my head nice and warm on those cold winter days. And I love all of the different designs and colors. Definitely recommended.

Great Helmet

I got this helmet as a gift for my mom. It is a great fuzzy comfy helmet and I am glad I chose this one. We all have the same size melon head in the family and I like that it has a stretchy strap so it fits tight without fuss. Also with melon heads we always run hot so no need for adjustable vents. She loves white ski helmets and owls so it was a win win!!

I had been one of those skiers not wearing a helmet. Not sure, since I do wear a helmet in every other sport I do. So I decided to finally take to the head. When I am ski touring I do not wear a helmet, but resort skiing, I do now, mainly since putting this thing on my head..it's unbelievably light! Warm and light. Super soft too, which I love! Warmer and lighter than a hat it feels like. And not too warm that come spring..I was not overheating. Size seems true..I got a small and it fits perfect. Smith products I have been a fan of for many years. I continue my Love of Smith with this Allure helmet.

Lite, cute, and functional

I resisted wearing a helmet for many seasons, mostly because I was unwiling to sacrifice the fashion accessory of winter hats. Being an avid skiier, I found that I was hesitating in more technical terrain. I figured that if I was going to take my sport to the next level, I should suck it up and wear a helmet. I could not be happier with my choice in the Smith Allure Helment. I find it to be very comfortable and lite weight. Even skiing in warmer temperatures, the minimal venting system was sufficient in regulating my temperature. Above all, I love the white color and neat graphics.

Jury's Still Out...

Purchased this helmet on a whim for a spring ski trip...Although I had a chat with a customer service rep re: the adjustability and sizing, I'm thinking I wish I wouldn't have followed their rec and ordered a size down like I had originally planned. I wasn't able to achieve a perfect fit the first time around...However, the features and quality seem on point!
