You definitely can't go wrong with the SmartWool Men's TML Mid Full-Zip Hooded Top. Its smooth style, incredible warmth, and superb comfort have you digging snow pits, bobbing through tight trees, and taking in the surrounding mountain views.

  • A semi-form fit and thumbholes make it ideal to layer beneath your shell or sport alone for an after-ski pitcher of beer
  • An articulated hood and elbows provide plenty of unrestricted movement when you hike, ski, or ice climb
  • Breathable, moisture-wicking, and quick-drying fabric keeps you super-comfortable
  • A center front zipper with draft flap and chin guard eliminates annoying chin chafing issues
  • Zippered chest and hand pockets stash your map or lip balm

Bottom Line: The TML Mid is a definite score to your winterwear.

Large fit best?

Also, on a warm spring day, would this be enough with a base layer underneath?

Bill,
If you want to layer a base underneath, I would definitely go with the Large. I'm 2 inches shorter and wear a large. On a warm spring day, the base and Smartwool TML layer will be plenty provided the winds aren't high, as the TML Hoody provides little wind protection. Hope this helps you out.

Great mid weight

I recently picked up one of these Mid-weights in the Light grey/ Green color way. The fit is awesome.. Im 6'5" and 195lbs, so finding a Layering piece that fits well has always been a struggle for me till now. This layer is warm, long in the sleeves, looks great and is very comfy. The only downside i've found is that the chin piece is starting to pill a bit, but it could be due to my stubble? Overall, a great mid weight layer for the cold days.

Hey Vince, what size did you get? We're about the same size (but I'm 6'6"). Thanks!
