I have two of these in solid colors and they're awesome! Super soft and stretches to fit even the largest of heads. If you looking for a beanie that gives your head that perfect shape then look no further!
I find most Smartwool hats run true, however the stripped lid and the lid are going to run smaller...especially on a "big man's head". Try the Straight line it hat - http://www.backcountry.com/smartwool-straightline-it-hat

Depends on head size. The Smartwool's have run a bit small in the past.

I just got this beanie, and it is really comfortable. I don't have a big head, and it works great. It doesn't give that point at the top of my head like many beanies. Also, it is very light, but warm.

It's been with me for several years now and it's been a great friend. It's a streamlined beanie that is meant primarily as a functional beanie. It keeps you worm without all the bulk. I have used it under my Petzl Ecrin helmet a few times.
