For a quirky, colorful sock made from soft Merino wool, look no further than the SmartWool Saturn Women's Sock. These socks feature a cushioned sole, so you'll be comfy wherever you wander. Be sure to put your feet up at the end of the day to show off these socks' great stripes.
Bottom Line: The SmartWool Saturn Sock features rings that are out of this world.
Last year I gave all my family members the gift of smartwool, so this year they returned the favor. My wife received these Saturnsphere socks and I am pretty sure she has only taken them off to wash them. Comfy, snug fit with a little extra padding in the sole. Perfect.
I purchase these socks for my daughter who is spending her Field Work Term in Burlington VT this winter (2012). They fit like gloves and keep her feet warm and comfortable. I have always been impressed with SmartWool's quality and love their variety.

I became a fan of SmartWool while doing some desert hiking about a decade ago (you read that correctly - DESERT!) They helped stabilize my body temperature, I completely avoided blisters, and they wore like iron! Now I wear SmartWool year round. The Saturnsphere socks add a little pizazz to my sock collection, and their lighter weight is perfect with everyday casual shoes. Absolutely love'em!
I bought a pair each of the black and henna Saturn socks and just love the colors! The wool is so cozy, not itchy at all, and the cushioned sole is divine. The Saturns stay put, stay warm, and make me smile whenever I see them.
These socks are great. I wore them cleaning the garage and now they are kind of dirty, but the great thing is that they don't stink super bad! I don't plan on washing them for a long time. The rainbow stripes make the socks look less dirty
Are you serious? You wore them cleaning the garage with no shoes and now they are dirty? Then, did you say that you are not planning on washing them? How are these comments relevent to other customers? I have to say, I got a good chuckle from reading it though.
Not one bad thing to say about Smartwool socks. They last 2-3 times longer than any other sock I've owned. They are warm in winter, cool in summer, and tend to fend off foot odors way better than other socks. Clad yourself completely in merino, you will not be sorry you did.
I've been wearing Smartwool socks for 5 years now and absolutely love them. They are incredibly soft, but one bit of advice: Do not ever put them in the dryer. You can probably get away with a no-heat cycle, but if you're husband helps with the wash occasionally, as mine does, and likes the power dry setting, Smartwool socks will lose their silky, no-blister properties. Let them hang dry and you'll be surprised at how much longer they last (and stay nice). Same applies for most clothes (and it's probably better for your electric bill and the environment).
One person mentioned quality. I have had over 25 pairs of SW socks in the last 5 years. One pair I bought had a mfg. defect in the toe and it fell apart the first wearing. Those had been purchased at a local shop on Orcas Island and the store owner replaced them immediately. Occasionally, stuff happens, but, overall, I'd say these are a 5* product.
My kids gave me a pair of the Saturnsphere in black for Xmas a few years back. SmartWool has always been my favorites. I especially loved these because of the arch support and they made my feet feel great! I wore them to death and wanted to buy a pair for each day of the week. Then I saw a sale on them at Backcountry...they did not have them in black, so I bought the Henna Heather, thinking they would be the same quality. They aren't bad enough to return, but they are definitely not the same as the black ones bought in REI. They are not as tight knit and I don't feel any arch support (pre or post washing). I was thinking it may be because they are leftovers of this sock before they were made as well? Anyway, my next purchase will be in person at REI where I know the quality I am getting.
I LOVE THESE SOCKS!! I have given up cotton socks in the winter since I found these, Even though it's not all that cold here, my feet get clammy in cotton socks and they stay comfortable in these. I think I have 8 pair and I wear them almost every day. And it's true that they don't get stinky! I wear mine two or three (or more) times, and just air them out. And they are soft, too.
I love these socks. Smartwool is by far my favorite brand. I have never had an issue with quality. I ordered these in the watermelon color which is definitely a pink and not orange like shown above, but they are still great and super comfortable. I am really picky about my socks so I don't mind the price because you get what you pay for with smartwool.
I have been wearing Smartwool ski socks for over 6 years and I often found myself wearing my ski socks around, not just to ski. Since SW has come out with such cool colors and designs for women, I have been buying them up. I also love the ultralight no show running socks. Love them all!
So far, so good. I have this particular pair in black and red. I love the cushion in them and after buying my first pair of Smartwool socks 2 weeks ago, I now own 13 pairs! I love wearing them with my leather boots. My feet never get hot like they used to in regular socks, even with my "long" boots. Such a relief! My only gripe is, I found a ton of the Smartwool socks listed on here at Nordstrom Rack for $9. After I bought a bunch of them on here for $13 with a discount code. Now I know, I guess! :)
This is my third pair of Smart Wool socks. Used with silk liner for hiking... sooo comfortable. Used alone all day working in the hospital and can keep running. Love them.
I have the black Saturn socks. The only thing I am not 100% thrilled with is the way they wash. Other than that, they are comfortable, colorful and pretty cool.
These are my favorite of all my wool socks. They are super soft, stretchy, and warm. They withstand multiple washes, without shrinking or pilling. They stay put while hiking, and work great with Danskos at work.
