PhD SmartLoft Jacket - Women's

The SmartWool Women's PhD SmartLoft Jacket puts a new spin on the puffy jacket. Down has been done and the folks at SmartWool know you're looking for the next great insulator to keep you warm without weighing you down. This foxy little number uses rugged nylon on the outside, a merino wool/polyester combo for slim-fitting warmth, and skin-kissing smooth merino for the lining. The streamlined silhouette lets you freely layer when you need hardshell protection on frigid windy days, but also doesn't mind showing off when paired with yoga pants or skinny jeans.

Treated with DWR, the quilted nylon body won't wet you down when it starts to sprinkle on your Michigan Avenue shopping trip. When an unannounced storm pelts you with all forms of precipitation, the SmartLoft insulation puts up a brave face until you find shelter. A touch of polyester to the wool insulation ups the water-resistance factor.

Your sides are flanked with PhD HyFi, a bi-component fabric, merino and nylon. Sleeker than the insulated aspects of the jacket but still warm and tough, these side panels make for easier layering without sacrificing functionality. All over the inside you'll find soft merino wool. Not only does this fabric feel fantastic against your skin, but it also helps minimize sweat on your skin when you're working hard, either on the sidelines of your kid's football game or on the trail moving towards the summit.
