The best

These are very nice socks. They keep me warm, wick well and don't stink after a hard day's use. They are very versatile. From the slopes to the trail to the office(They work great with my dress shoes) these socks have you covered.

Staple sock

My staple sock for any cold-weather activities. If you like thin and warm, this is perfect. I first got them to go with some particularly snug ski boots, but they are thin and comfortable enough that I even use them for winter trail running.

I ordered 3 pairs because these were exactly what I wanted. First pair was perfect. GREAT weight in my ski boot. Second pair one sock was 3 inches shorter than the other? Hm, a childrens maybe, but the foot fit right! Third pair were fine.

I can deal with it but I didn't read they were seconds and they were too expensive if that's the case.

5 Stars because they are perfect - someone just got crazy when packaging them!

Excellent Ski Socks

Switched from bulky, heavy ski socks to thin liners years ago. Will never go back.

These socks are the best I've used yet. They perform exactly as advertised.

Sizing SmartWool socks of this type, thin liners, is problematic for me. According to SmartWool's sizing guide I should wear a large, but they are too large, even after washing and drying. Mediums just barely fit. Bought mediums this time and will try air-drying instead of tossing in the dryer to see whether that results in the perfect fit.

Great Ski Sock

Paired these with a new pair of Lange Super Blasters. First pair of really thin socks. Have definitely helped during the break in period. Keep my feet warm and allow me to feel the boot. Won't be going back to a padded sock.

Is there any difference between these socks, and the Women's Ski Ultra Light? Or are they they same sock, just with different colors?

Responded on

As far as I can tell my wife's and my PhDs are exactly the same. (Yes. I wear my wife's socks.)

Favorite Ski Socks!

These are my new favorite ski socks, they wick well, dry fast, and keep you warm in most New England ski conditions. Only time I switched to something else was when the temp dropped to 1 F (-30 with wind chill) and I used a heavier wool sock from icebreaker.

These are now my go to socks for the vast majority of my snow time.

Tested in temps from 10 F to 40 F, happy :)

Thin and Warm

Exactly what a ski sock should be - thin, dry, warm, stink resistant, non snagging. Nice touch: they stich the abbreviation for the size into the cuff, so my LGs can be distinguished from my wife's MDs.

Warm, dry, thin, comfortable, the perfect sock.

Finally, a ski sock that is wool and thin / low volume. I have tried many many thin poly socks, all more expensive then this smart wool offering. This is no doubt my favorite ski sock. Since getting it I have not worn another sock for skiing. Warm, moisture wicking wool and nice and thin so I can wiggle my toes with ease in my at boots.

Great Sock!!!

I actually prefer the lightweight sock with extra padding in the heel and shins, because it helps prevent shin bang and also hold my heel inside the boot better. For me the best part is wearing a lightweight sock inside my boots, because the thinner the sock the better for my feet. It doesn't strangle your feet and allows for good blood circulation when your boots are cranked down tight. Smartwool makes a great product.

What size should I get if I were a size 27.5 ski boot?

Responded on

Sorry, didn't see size chart. I'm right between medium and large because I wear a size 10.5 shoe and 9.5 ski boot. I'll go with the medium though, tighter fit is better.

Great ski sock

These socks are very good. They are lightweight and thin so that you stay comfortable in your boot along with being able to feel around your boot. Although they are lightweight and thin, they are still warm and protective. Awesome in all conditions and temperatures from cold powder days to spring skiing.

I like everything smartwool

I've never had anything smartwool that wasn't great. Decided to try these as winter dress socks for the office. I'm really pleased.

Excellent ski sock!

%-Star is right. Low volume sock that allows me to really feel my insole and boot. I have always loved really thin ski socks, and now that I can wear thin wool socks it's even better. Great wicking for long BC tours. Nothing like putting on a brand new pair, so get a few!

Anyone know how long these socks are?

They'll fall a bit higher than mid calf (depending on how long your legs are). They'll come up just a bit higher on your leg than an average ski boot.

amazing socks

These socks are amazing. They are so comfy and keep my feet warm and dry.
The reason thin socks keep your feet warmer than thick socks (or two pairs of socks) is because the thin sock will wick away more moisture from your foot. when there is moisture in your boot, it makes your feet cold. thin socks prevent this.
I can wear these in my stinky sneakers for 3 days straight with no stink. I hand wash them (I don't have a laundry machine so this is faster, but I machine wash them when I do laundry) and they are dry within a few hours. I have one pair, but I wish I had a lot of them so I can wear them everyday.

This is the only sock I wear to ski. Super warm, paper thin, moisture wicking, and smell resistant thanks to the organic merino wool. I have tried other socks and they aren't as warm and STANK. If you have custom fitted boots, do your feet the favor of wearing these socks.

This is the ONLY sock I wear to ride. Super thin, super warm, super comfy. They don't stink after a day on the mountain either, thanks to the merino wool. Basically, if you have custom fitted boots do yourself the service of getting these socks. Your boots will never fit better.
