Lightweight throughout, but missing the added cushion that most socks would have on the bottom of the toe and heel. However, there is a bit more tension in those areas that typically would have the cushion.

This is by far the most breathable of all the smart wool socks that I have tried.

Had the socks over a month now and don't see any sign of durability issue. Just be sure to hang dry them rather than using a dryer.

For reference, I am a size 10.5-11 shoe size and purchased a Large.

Love the socks. Light enough to wear in spring and help the feet to not get too hot. Medium fits my size 9 foot perfectly

The best gear is often that which disappears, and is so well designed that you don't even think about it. These are my go-to socks for running, racing, cross-training, and are always up to the test. If you're worried about merino being too warm, fear not. What the merino offers is comfort and antimicrobial odor control. The price is less than ideal, but go for quality not quantity and buy these on sale when you can

I usually love SmartWool socks and own multiple pairs (including this style), but this latest pair got a hole in the toe after only wearing them twice. Because I love the feel on my feet, I'll stitch it up and keep wearing them. I know I got the correct size, since it's the same as I have in other SmartWool socks, so I think it could just be a defective pair. Other than this latest dud, I love SmartWool socks!

This sock is so comfortable and soft. It slides easily into any shoe. the biggest perk for me was the merino wool. My feet get cold sitting in an office all day. I realized they were getting cold because my feet were sweating in cotton socks and then getting chilled. I haven't experienced that once since I got these. I have 4 other pair of SmartWool socks.

Thinnest athletic socks I've ever owned. They're very comfortable, ideal to use for running on a hot day or as a foot liner underneath a dress/crew/ski sock. I'm a 9.5 and the medium fits well, hugs my foot closely.

I wear these every, single, day. I'm talking all day, every day. I don't even wear flip flops or sandals. I know some complain about Smartwool durability but I've only managed to wear a hole in the heel of a couple pairs of these (and those were the previous generation after months of wear) - and I have GOBLIN feet.

I hike in them, run in them, wash them, wear them around the house, everything - I'm never barefoot. I like them so much I recently upped my inventory to over 30 pairs between the previous generation and this current generation.

the sock itself feels great, like all smartwool socks, but seems much too delicate. The upper elastic band ripped after 2 washes and it wasn't exactly pulled very hard. Never had a similar problem with other smartwool socks and i own quite a few.

These pad run socks are incredible! I have multiple pair and use them for all my outings. The large fits my wide 9. They are true to fit even after multiple runs and washes.

These are by far the best socks that I have ever owned. They are incredibly comfortable and durable. After wearing them all day they are virtually odor free.

I have used this sock for about one month and around twice per week. They are so far durable but the bottom pills a lot. It doesn't seem to be worn out soon but my other smartwool socks don't pill so mush. I think it is maybe due to the ratio of nylon to wool. My personal conclusion is more wool means less pills.

WOW....no smell even after multiple times wearing them. Durable and versatile even on short hikes. Second pair purchase. Large fits a 10 foot. Very limited show if any around shoe line.
