Help absorb the shock of spacetime absurdities.

You weren’t planning on a super-long run, but now that you somehow time-warped into the Jurassic period, you’re extra glad for the Smartwool PhD Running Light Mini Socks. Although these socks won’t give you the instant knowledge to figure out Einstein’s time-space continuum theory, they will cushion your heels and forefeet as you dash away from dinosaurs. Mesh venting panels on the tops of the socks take care of feet-heat, and the lightweight wool naturally blocks odor so at least the smell of your feet won’t attract predators.

These are 12 bucks a pair? Or do more come with it for that price?

Husbands Everyday Sock

I bought these, then bought some more. My husband uses these for his every day and activity sock. They are comfy and breathable. He has really wide feet and they fit him great. The black works for his "working" times and he uses the grey for biking, hiking or whatever.

Great sock but questionable longevity/durability

I run a lot of trail races ranging from technical single track to forest service logging roads with training in between. Using XA pros. Probably have put on roughly 75-100miles on each pair. I'm rather surprised by the lack of durability in the Smartwool PhD. Rub areas have completely lost pile making the sock unusable.

Favorite Runner

This is far and away my favorite running sock. You don't even know its on your foot. Never bunches, not too hot, not too cold. I only run about 25 miles a week but all of those miles are up in the Kennesaw mountains on really technical, variable surface, single track terrain. This loop is very steep in some sections and you're running over EVERYTHING! ... loose gravel, lime stone, mud and clay, rocky vertical sections, granite slabs, puddled water, dry loose dirt, soot, tree roots ... you get the picture. These socks, on top of a set of Supefeet Orange, inside my La Sportiva's or Montrail's equals the ultimate trail running system!!

Not just a sock

I just had to find out what was so special about these $$$ socks. After wearing them once I trashed my old socks and re-ordered another half dozen of these gems. I use them for hiking, cycling and work and enjoy every foot step.

surprising support and grip

I've used Thorlos for forever but my wife swears by these so I tried them. They're great: remarkably cushioned and supportive for their weight and they don't pack down after a few miles. Plus the sweat wicking just can't be beat. I have bad feet and ankles so I don't like a micro-thin sock but these seem to combine the advantages of both thick and thin. Beats Thorlos, hands down. I'll be buying more.

This sock is amazing!!!! It forms perfect to your foot and the sizes are the same as regular socks so you dont have to worry about conversions or anything. Only bad thing is its 15 dollars for just a pair, which is kind of expensive but hey, its an awesome sock. Go Smartwool!!

second only to the PhD Running Ultra Light Mini Sock

In the SmartWool line of running socks, these are second only to the PhD Running Ultra Light Mini Sock. I just prefer them to be a bit thinner, and less cushioned, as it improves my feel of the trail. Still great socks, still five stars...

Not a Runner

I work in the TV & Movie industry and I'm always looking for socks I can wear in the summer that give me lots of support and cushion for my feet since I'm standing or walking most of the day.

These socks are great for this. I'm not running with them, but working long hours on my feet and these socks help.

Nice support

Great sock. Wicks really well, provides great support, and lasts. I like that it does not fall apart or stretch out after a few uses, given the dollars they cost. Price is my only hangup, but they are worth the money in the long run. You get what you pay for...These are worth it.
