SmartWool PhD Running Light Mini Sock - Men's - 2008 BCS

The Phd's were supposed to be knit tighter than previous versions in order to make them last longer. I have found they do last a bit longer but still not long enough for the $15 price tag. The two pair that I own have lasted 150 to 200 miles each. I wouldn't dare wear them for another ultra after doing a 50 miler in them. Darn Toughs are my new favorites.

These socks are great but I wonder how long they will last, they seem pretty thin.

OK...so I've purchased performance cycling and running socks from other manufacturers before thinking that they were working as intended and increasing my comfort. I never knew the difference. I bought these on a whim with the expectation that they would perform about the same. I was shocked at how poorly every other pair of socks I own performs compared to these. My feet have never been so comfortable while running. These just seem to jive with my running shoes providing extra cushion and support. My foot feels secure in the shoe without being constricted or overly mobile. I can't explain it except to say all the other over-priced socks I own are just a gimmick. These perform.

These socks are worth the price you pay for them because of their ability to cushion and wick away moisture. I will purchase more of these in the future.

Bought these for a die-hard cotton socks man. He wouldn't admit it, but loves these socks. He's been wearing them every time we take the pups out on the trail.

They fit nicely and feel good but the blue bleeds when they get wet and makes them look ugly.
