Here's what others have to say...

wool during summer in the southeast

I've always had a problem with foot odor, and foolishly never considered the functionality of the sock until recently. The Light Micro is my first ever non-cotton sock, and I love it. I wore a pair on a quick 10 mile hike in 100% humidity and I am amazed at how dry they kept my feet. Also, as others have noted, they still smell brand new, and the shoes they were in are pretty rank. :) Definitely buying more, but I'm considering the ultra light.

How did I ever wear cotton socks before?

I picked these up in every color. My go-to socks for the outdoors now. The padding is just enough to provide some additional comfort without causing my feet to sweat. My pairs have held up great so far. Odor resistant too.

love it

Love this sock! comfortable and great for hiking! Run true to size

Hikering Socks!

These have to be my favorite hiking socks out there. I wore them on a 30 mile backpacking trip with relatively new shoes and didnt get any blisters, which was awesome and really helped make my trip even that much more spectacular. They dry fast if your feet get wet and help wick sweat away from your feet. Smartwool kills it!

Absolutely Amazing

These socks are ultra comfortable, and stop my feet from getting anywhere near as sweaty as your run-of-the-mill cotton ones; also, blisters are a thing of the past! Makes me want to replace every pair I own with more of these.

Fantastic sock!

This is an incredibly comfortable and breathable sock! You can wear it all day and not worry about getting that god forsaken sweaty foot feeling. The only thing I would change with them would be to make them a little shorter, but other than that they are SAWEET!

Great Multi-Use Sock

I wouldn't say these are the best socks for biking or for running or for hiking, but if I could only have one sock for all these activities, I'd pick this one. It has a good amount of padding where you need it, it is breathable on top so your feet don't overheat, and provide quite a bit of arch support.
The downside is that they've worn out quicker (mostly from pilling) than some of my other wool socks, but these also get a ton more usage, too. Good overall sock.

Good for a year

When new, these socks feel great! Unfortunately, mine developed large holes in the ankle and on the heel area after about a year of usage.

Awesome Sock

I have used this sock for lots of activities. I run, workout (lift, aerobics etc) play soccer in this sock and its great. I had a problem with blisters when i played soccer but since i started using this sock & others similar to it, my blisters have gone away. the best is just wearing them around the house b/c they have such a great feel.

worth it

I am a "off and on" runner and currently (hopefully permanently) I am "on". A friend of mine used to always talk about his run-specific socks and I thought it was a bunch of hog-wash. I recently ordered a rain jacket and saw these socks. They were on sale, so I figured what the heck? I can get the socks and the Sierra Designs rain jacket and it is still cheaper than the jacket normally is. So I got a pair. Ran 5 miles in them first time I wore them. I really like them. At first I felt they were a bit warm, but my feet felt comfortable throughout the run. I've worn them 3 times now and will definately be getting some more. My normal thought was "$15? I can get a 6 pack at Target for $8". But now that I have tried them I won't turn back. I would call these, "a worth it indulgence"!

All Proformance, No Stench

Great socks! Nothing beats a sock that you can wear multiple days with out washing!
I love the wave it hugs your foot, absolutely no slippage even after all days use.
Only negative is the hit it's going to take to my wallet after I convert all my socks over to Merino...

May have to throw my other socks away!

I got these socks for my husband and he has not stopped raving about how comfortable these socks have been. He loved them so much that we immediately ordered some more. The big test came when he wore them day after day as we traveled through Italy. He says he may have to throw away all his other ordinary socks now. Who knew socks could be so great!

the only socks I buy

It took me a while to get over the unfortunate color schemes and try them, but now I am hooked. The material is amazingly comfortable and truly never smell.

Comfortable but

I just got these for my trip, two pair of the hemp color. First day, a hole in the sock on the bottom, just from driving! What the heck! These aren't cheap. I always bought smartwool medium and light weight hiking socks and wanted a better short sock for casual wear. Very disappointed. Will send back and see how long the other pair lasts.

Daily Drivers

I bought my wife a pair of SmartWools some time ago. She said they were great. Personally, I'd never spend that kind of money on myself, you know 10 pair of socks for 5$ sort of person. I'm a saver in my late 30's and I don't want to work myself to death to my 60's. Last year I took the family to Maine on vacation to Acadia and stopped off in an outlet. She insisted I get a pair of these socks. I'm thinking... wool socks, that crud my parents bought me that was itchy. Wow, really indescribable. She put another two pair in my Chrirstmas stocking and I just bought another 5 pair just for daily wear. I'm a cheap-o extraordinaire when it comes to myself but for these socks, I'll spend the 15$ a pair for daily use.

Smartwool is top notch

Comfortable, stink free and wicking. What more could you want from a sock? Smartwool delivers a great product, once again.

tough socks

Smart Wool makes great hiking and running socks. They have great wicking, are very comfy, and have a long life. I prefer the micro's over the mini's when I am running, they just feel more comfortable to me. Smart Wool's are among the best in my book..

Great product!

Keeps its shape, does not ride down, and fits like a glove. Wicks like a wonder! I own many types of socks made by SmartWool, and I have never had a complaint about any of them. SmartWool rocks (boulders, talus, scree or whatever)!!
