Made from super-soft merino wool, the Smartwool Men’s Midweight Crew Top provides next-to-skin comfort, odor resistance, and moisture management for cold winter pursuits like backcountry skiing and mountaineering. Flatlock seams and a crew neckline eliminate chafing from your epic day outdoors.

Bottom Line: A warm, natural alternative to synthetic baselayers.

This thing is sweetness. Used it on several extended trips in the frigid temps of Eastern, ID. My go to base layer. I sweat like a hooker in a church and I stayed dry and toasty all day every day. No whistlin' dixie here.

I am looking for long underwear pants/top to fit my 6'4"

I am looking for long underwear pants/top to fit my 6'4" 165-170lbs frame.
I usually wear a 32x35 pant and I have semi broad shoulders ~40 chest w/ a 35 sleeve.
Is there any brand/model that will fit a tall/slim person?

Hey, Joey. I'm 6'3 and 180. I went with an XLrg in this mid weight. Usually arc-teryx, mountain hard wear, patagonia fit me well (2 of the most expensive, figures...). Hope that helps.

Long Sleeve, You Best Believe!

By:

By far the best long underwear shirt I've ever worn. Capilene and other synthetics tend to develop a terrible stench where as Merino does not!
When you first look at it, you wouldn't think it would keep you as warm as it does. Wearing it defiantly made me a believer. I was recently in the winds where it would get down in to the 30/40's at night. I was comfortable sitting/walking around for a few hours with just a 200g long sleeve merino layer, a 150g merino short sleeve layer, and a shell to knock down the wind.
Highly recommended!
Unlike most of Smartwools base layers, I felt it ran a bit slim.
6' 135 and a medium was a nice snug fit.

Smartwool vs. Icebreaker is pretty much even on a piece like this (baselayer). Both are best-in-class New Zealand Merino with great fit and attention to detail. Shrinkage depends on how you wash. If you wash and dry with the rest of your clothes, which I do, you can expect 5-10% shrinkage. If you treat it carefully, gentle cold water wash and air-dry, there is almost no shrinkage.

I am not as familiar with the Icebreaker sizing. Most of my gear is Smartwool, but I would guess it to be similar.

Large would be you best bet for a performance fit. XL if you like your base layer loose. The Smartwool size chart on this page has the specific measurements (even in cm) that you need to check.
