Like wearing a really woolly sheep—but without all the baaa-ing.

Sizing isn't even close.
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
According to the size chart, my daughter walks the line between a Medium and Large. I figured that I'd get the Large for the sake of possible shrinkage (of the shirt), growth (of her), and modesty. When the large showed up, it was like a joke. It wasn't like it was just a little on the small side. The bottom hem barely cleared her belly button (with no hope of tucking in), and the sleeves were hardly past her elbows. I have a couple Smartwool shirts for an adult male that I feel like the sizing is pretty good, but I have to wonder if I got a defective item for my daughter. This is my first return to Backcountry, and it appears I'm going to be out $7 for shipping back this item, so I don't think I'm going to risk purchasing another, since I have no idea if getting a different size will fix the issue, or if I just got a mis-marked size. I did check the label.
Bought the smart wool long sleeve top for my daughter to go to science camp. At camp they spend all day outside in the snowy Wyoming wilderness. No cotton clothing is allowed because when it gets wet, it stays wet and cold. This was the perfect underlayer for a fussy 9 year old. It's soft and stretchy like cotton. Fits perfect and has washed well (twice)...holds its shape.
