Sub-zero dawn-patrol missions would freeze a normal man, but your intelligence lead you to slip on the SmartWool NTS Midweight Zip Top to keep you dry and insulated as you skin up the ridge. The midweight merino wool breathes as you work hard to skin up the ridge and insulates as you pause at the top for de-skinning and pictures before your well-earned descent.

  • Midweight, next-to-skin merino wool fabric regulates your body temperature and resists the build-up of odors so you won't have to deal with stink on long hut trips
  • Form fit brings the fabric close to your body for comfort
  • Zip neck provides a little extra insulation and snow protection in the deep stuff but dumps excess heat when necessary
  • Hip length and drop-tail hem boost coverage
  • Flatlock interior seams and shoulder panels prevent rubbing and chafing when you wear a pack and move fast for hours

Eric, you may have already done this, but you can initiate a chat with a BC rep using the link at the top of the page. They should have the most up to date information on inventory. Best of luck!

This is a great top. It's very comfortable as a base layer under fleece on cold mornings, and works well by itself during aerobic activity (cross-country skiing) when temperatures climb into the 20's and 30's. The standup collar is great. For temps above 40, the lightweight model would be a better choice.

Very happy with this purchase, I love how the mid-section runs long so I can tuck it under my pants, also it is a bit fitting to keep close to your skin, great base-layer. The sleeves similarly fit snugly again to keep close to your skin. Yet it's not so skin tight that you'd feel uncomfortable wearing it asby itself.

Great baselayer for hiking, skiing, mountaineering or any other activity in the cold. I have a lot (at least my wife tells me so) of smartwool products and this piece does not disappoint me neither. If i should pick on something it must be that the sleeves seem to twist around my arm, leaving the seams on top of my wrist instead of under. This also happens to me when wearing other brands baselayers so I guess its just a defect in the craftmansship when I was born. Two thumbs up!

I've been using these for several ski seasons as my base layer - this is my third purchase of one. This wool is amazing in cold or hot weather. It keeps you warm and dry without overheating. Plus, it will go for several days without washing and still not get "ripe." If it does need washing, a sink, some soap, and an overnight hang is all it needs.

I picked this up on sale a few weeks back and wish I had the cash at the time to get another one as well. This is absolutely perfect for layering as the temps have begun to dip into the teens and 20s, as well as form fitting and soft to the touch. I actually look forward to putting this on.

I have nothing negative to say about this product

These SmartWool shirts are the best. I wear my shirt around the house for low-bulk comfort and also of course for cold weather outdoor activities. Great for hiking, bike rides, or skiing. The midweight is perfect and can actually be used in a wide range of temperatures. I now have 2 of these and prefer them over the lighter weight.
