I love SmartWool socks! They are warm and hold up well to repeated washings. I buy my boots a little bit big so I can wear them. I just wish they were less expensive!

I want socks to wear with my ankle-height casual winter boots that won't scrunch down into the boot when I walk. Will these socks stay up?

These should stay up in ankle high boots. Taller boots (Sorels) tend to push 'em down. Hope this helps!

What's not to like? These Smartwool socks are not padded, and they're not a low-volume skinny weave. They're just a comfy, slightly plushy wool just right for loafers. My black Margaritas make a loopy style statement every time I flash my ankles. I wear only Smartwool socks, summer & winter; for hiking and for lazing around.

I have worn lots of different smartwool socks but absolutely love the margarita for its warmth and thin enough to fit in your loafers. The colors are vibrant and they last forever. You can never have too many pair of smartwool socks.

You need a medium, definitely, Zacharias, but it looks like they're out of stock. Instead of trying to cram into a small or swimming around in a large, I would choose a different sock - one that fits - or go find this sock somewhere else.

I like socks for Christmas. So does my stepmom. Seriously. She even asks for them specifically. Depends on the person, of course, but I say go for it. Maybe put something in them too, like really good dark chocolate or a pair of earrings. Make them little Christmas stockings.

By:
April 14, 2011

Love all things smartwool! These socks are one of the many pairs I've gotten (should say invested in, they are not cheap!) in the last couple of years. They're wonderful: warm, soft, not at all itchy, cute color (got the black stripe). I machine wash and air dry them. They have pilled a little but not a ton; not enough to be a problem.

Oh, my. These socks are simply the best. Like others, I never thought I would spend this much for socks. Then my best friend gave me a pair for my birthday and I was a convert. They are so comfortable, soft, warm and cushy. Wonderful! I want more!!

My Everyday Favorite

By:
October 27, 2009

These socks have become my everyday socks that I wear to work. I have five different color variations (all striped), so I have a pair that matches nearly everything. They are comfortable, durable, and well made. They seem expensive at first, but will outlast two or three pair of cheaper socks. They're lightweight, but not paper thin either. They're cool in the summer and wick well, yet are warm in the winter. I definitely recommend them.

Great Socks

By:
January 24, 2011

This is the forth pair of SmartWool scoks that I have bought and I just love them. I really love the Margarita sock. It is not as think as my other pairs so I can wear them with my nicer work shoes. Because of the colorful strips, I can wear them with just about any pair of pants I own. I live in the Pacific NW and during the winter it is always chilly. I have to have warmer socks or my feet just stay cold. I never have to worry about that with SmartWool.

Go no Further for your Marino sox purchase!

By:
December 30, 2010

I've tried a two different bands for marino sox, Icebreaker and Wigwam but I find the smartwool is better in cuff fit and for staying put and I now only buy this brand. The Margarita length is perfect when you don't need that under-knee warmth. I've worn these sox in both calf and knee boots and they have been perfect.

Smartwool Adorer

By:
March 22, 2010

I discovered smartwool socks about 4 years ago and now they are one of my favorite things about winter. I buy them for gifts often just to share the warm cozy non itchy feel with people I love....oh, and I have a drawer full of them now. It's hard to reach for anything else until it gets too hot in Texas to wear anything but flipflops. I'm a true Believer!

Love..but sizing was a little bigger than normal

By:
January 23, 2010

I love Smartwool socks!! They are one of the few brands that I always buy. I wear a medium in smartwool, and for some reason the medium was a little bigger than normal with this sock. It's the only reason I am giving these a 4 instead of 5 star. I've washed them a couple times now and they have shrunk a little, but they are still big. Ah well, I love them anyways!

Love Smart wool

By:
January 10, 2010

I have had great luck with all my Smart wool socks. I have lightweight to heavy for all conditions. I wash them in cool water and hang them to dry - never put them in the dryer. I have accidently dried them, with no shrinkage, but I believe the dryer will make them wear out faster. I watch for sales and buy these throughout the year, and wear them all the time. I don't think you can beat the price (on sale) or the quality.

I love Margaritas and I love socks, so it's no surprise that I love my Smart Wool Margarita socks! They are thin but warm and are great at moisture-wicking. I bought a pair in each color and will be buying more to give as cozy, colorful gifts.

Amazing socks!

By:
March 5, 2009

I've just discovered the SmartWool socks - they are wonderful! I now have multiple pairs of the Margarita socks. They remind me of my husband's Filson lightweight wool socks except these come in my size. I just throw them in with the regular wash, and then the dryer. I'm right on the cusp of sizes between 6 and 7. I ordered the Small because I hate sloppy socks and they are perfect even after mutiple washings. The lightning fast shipping doesn't hurt either.

Smartwool is the best!

By:
December 29, 2008

Both my wife and I love the Smartwool line of socks, so, when I saw these I knew she would want a pair...I wasn't wrong. She wears them often, especially padding around the house when the temperature takes a dip. I'm sure I'll win more points if I get her another pair for her birthday. Can't recommend Smartwool enough!

Cheers!

Gotta love smartwool!

By:
December 3, 2008

These are light-weight wools socks. I love all socks made by smartwool; these are warm without bulk. It hasn't been cold enough to merit my thicker wool socks. These do the trick for our fairly mild climate here in Western Washington.

I own every color

By: Backcountry.com Employee
October 2, 2008

Now that it is cooler I pretty much always have a pair of Smartwool socks on my feet. They don't collect any smell, I have washed them a lot and they haven't pilled and don't look worn. I will say the color has lost some of its luster but that is to be expected. They are the most comfortable socks I own.
