It’s not hard to pair the Smartwool Cuffed Beanie with your ski or snowboard getup. A simple, soft, textured wool design is all you need to stay blissfully warm in frigid mountain conditions. Most beanies freeze up when wet, but merino’s thermo-regulating properties keep it warm when wet, so head on out in a big blowing storm and see what the Smartwool Cuffed Beanie’s made of.

Bottom Line: Sheepish skiing.

Softest, least smelliest or itchiest

Honestly, this is the best beanie ever. I love this hat like no other. It keeps my ears warm, doesn't itch like other wool hats and doesn't retain bad odors in the least.

I trust my dome, and my backpacking trips, to SmartWool

I bought this in the non-cuffed version, the SmartWool Lid Beanie, and it is currently my go-to beanie for backpacking. Light, comfy, warm, and oh-so-soft. I backpack in just a bivy sack, so my beanie is very important to me. I trust my dome, and my backpacking trips, to SmartWool.

Perfect!

This hat is perfect for the backcountry. It is super warm but also thin, so you can easily stash it in a pocket if you overheat. It covers my ears and also fits under a skiing or climbing helmet easily.

The hat is really dorky looking when you wear it cuffed, but I just unfold the cuff and wear it "snowboarder style" (you know what I mean!) and it is cute and awesome.

Another win for Smartwool

Awesome little hat. I wear it under my ski helmet on those particularly cold Montana mornings. Surprisingly warm, considering the light weight, and doesn't stink when things start to heat up. All around great product.

Anytime, anywhere

This is by far my favorite beanie of all time. Breaths nicely, warm, very comfortable, and it helps that it looks good too. I use it skiing, hiking, backpacking, climbing, around the house, around town, and sometimes think of sleeping with it on.

All-purpose beanie

I have two of these and LOVE them. Thin enough to fit under my bike helmet, wicks well enough to wear while skinning or snowshoeing up a on a Saturday afternoon, and warm enough to keep me comfy in the stands at a Utes football game in December. They will stand up to anything you throw at them and never show a hint of wear.

Surprisingly warm :)

I love SmartWool socks so I thought I'd order this for winter hiking. When it first arrived I was doubtful as it looked so "thin" and almost "flimsy" but then I wore it out in a cold stormy day and it felt surprisingly warm. Now I'm sold for any SmartWool product. :)

I love it, he doesn't.

So I'm a terrible person, and I lost my husband's old smartwool hat. It wasn't quite this exact one, but this was close. Since I loved to steal his, I bought one for each of us. It fits my head well, but is tight on his, so I get 2, and he has none.

Very warm while not being uncomfortably hot. Actually now that I'm thinking about it it is comfortable in every sense of the word.
