Bottom Line: Slip into the SmartWool Adventurer Socks and take the trail by storm.
Smartwool as always makes my feet comfortable whether I am on the slopes, the trails or my girlfriends living room. These socks are warm and a perfect for me (I am a 13 and got the XL). Won't even think about leaving for the outdoors without these.
Warm and soft these socks keep the heat in if you need it and breath in warmer conditions. I have used these in snow and on the AT during the summer. A good balance and great cushioning. Also keep the stank out fairly well. Overall, a great sock for multiple uses, really can't go wrong here.
Do these socks have a tendency to run large or small? I wear shoes in the range of 11.5 to 13 depending on the brand and style so I'm not sure if I should go with a L or XL.
They run true to size. What are MOST of your shoes, or average all of them. Better yet, find a local retailer and try on a pair before getting them here. : )

These are the most comfortable if all of SmartWools socks IMHO. These are not the 'Hiking' line, these are the 'Ultra Comfy' line which is the more casual wear and less elastic. They are extremely soft, almost luxuriously soft. I've got 2 pair of the Adventurer and 2 pair OF THE Street Hiker, and have been wearing them almost everyday this winter. I tend to sweat a lot in my boots and these seem to curb the moisture much better then synthetic socks. I highly recommend these and all SmartWools products for a range of casual and athletic wear. 10/10
A little disappointed in the thickness of the socks. They seem to be more on the line of a dress sock and not comforting in a boot. With only a few wearings and washings they are visibly worn. Nto really an XL in size either.
I really like these smartwool socks ! I wear them as my inner sock in my mountaineering boots . They are smooth to touch and comfy to wear . I have read that they last a long time too , so far this seems to be the casa . I am glad wool has made a comeback in clothing wear . My feet do not get wet like with other man made fibres ! Sheep grow good insulating material ! Simon Bentley , Joshua Tree , Ca.
Will this sock be too warm for everyday wear? I think I am becoming allergic to nylon and other synthetic fibers. I thought SmartWool might be the way to go, but I am truly looking for a comfortable everyday sock...
It will work...Smartwool rocks.....About a million types of smartwool socks are out there. Perhaps pick a lighter one. I wear the smartwool light ski socks everyday...skiing or not
No, these aren't the thickest socks in the world, but they are incredibly comfortable. I wore them all day snowboarding and they kept my feet pretty warm even in 14 degrees. They didn't overheat my feet and make them sweat a lot either. If you want plush socks then these probably aren't for you. However, if you want comfortable durable socks, I would suggest these.
a agree with the last reviewer, nothing more to say,he said it all, these are casual and comfortable as it gets,if your reading this is because you have doubts, give it a try and you'll for yourself.become a believer!! ha! ahh,and by the way,bc is the best company out there, hope they don't change....
Yeah, I dig em.. These are what I'm looking for when I look for wool socks.. Not itchy. Not clunky, nice and breathable. I wore these for my most recent holiday in Montreal with temperatures hovering around 6 - 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Oh, they also look good.
My Dad loves these socks. Said they are very warm. He has diabetes and has problems with circulation and keeping his feet warm, said that these are great socks and definitely do the trick for him. He also likes that fact that they are not too thick and he can still wear his regular shoes with them.
