Can you believe it? Socks! Wow! We're excited. Are you? Well you should be—what, with the support, comfort, and versatility of the SmartWool Women's Adrenaline Socks. These medium crew socks will get your heart pounding. A hyper-breathable blend of wool, nylon, and spandex keeps your feet warm in the snow, and cool when you're out on your mountain bike. You might have a heart attack when you discover that these performance socks have braces around the arches and ankles and padding on the sole and Achilles. By heart attack, of course, we mean a yawn and a knowing nod.
I bike commute in the winter because I am slightly crazy. So it's snowing and blowing? I don't see a good reason to drive. These socks are perfect for keeping my feet from falling off during my winter commute. They allow me to be lazy, as they only really need to be washed after at least two days of being worn. I could wear them throughout the day and my feet wouldn't be soaked in sweat while I was inside.
They also work great for snowshoeing and cold weather hiking, which is probably what sane people use them for.
This is my 7th or 8th pair of smartwool socks. I have Reynaud's syndrome (poor circulation) and these are the best socks I've ever found for keeping my feet warm in winter when I walk/ski/hike outside. The cushioning and elastic is very comfortable. My first pairs are over 2 years old now and still holding up well - I've never worn through the heels or toes despite many washes & wearings (although I don't put them in the drier). Great socks!
I've been a fan of SmartWool socks for several years and my local store stopped carrying the Adrenaline line. The store's owner told me they've been replaced by the PhD line. But I love the Adrenaline hikers so much I can't be without them. I'm looking for the warmest in the adrenaline line. What is the heaviest weight women's Adrenaline hiker made?
The Mediums are the heaviest weight in the Adrenaline line. The next step up is the Trekking line which is heavier.FYI, I was a big fan of the adrenaline's and switched to the PhD's. I was disappointed with how long they lasted, lack of cushion, and the amount of dirt that would accumulate on my foot. A friend of mine suggested the Darn Tough brand and I've never looked back. Same price range as the Adrenaline's but perform much better than the PhD's or Adrenaline's. Try them, you won't be disappointed.

These SW socks are just perfect for touring, hiking, snowshoeing, ever winter activity where you need a little more warmth and you want support. I love the pads across the front of the foot--very clever!
I've always been a fan of the SmartWool line, but especially their socks. This did not disappoint. I have tried them hiking, snowshoeing and even working at the hospital. They always keep my feet warm or cool depending on the needs and are comfortable and durable after many washings, even the "irregulars" bought at the outlet. Just a well-made product.
