These were my favorite socks in the days before the SmartWool PhD socks and the Teko Eco Merinos came along. I used them for everything from trekking, hiking, working out, and chilling. I found them to run a bit small, though, so if you were on the cusp with sizes, you had to size up. As always, a great product from SmartWool.

I prefer these socks for cooler trail running conditions or when I want a little extra cushion. They're a little bit thicker than the PhD's so if you need to take up a little extra room in your shoes then they fit the bill. My only complaint has to do with my own foot size. I wear a size 8 to 8.5 which is the divider between Medium and Large. Med feels a bit tight, large has to much extra material.
My initial two pairs of these socks are still going strong after a 200 mile through-hike and summer marathon training. The first two held up so well that I bought three more pairs over the course of my summer running, and they are my go-to sock for running and 3+ season hiking. These socks do not fossilize like other merino wool socks.
I wear the XL. About 2 years ago this became my favorite sock. I compared to a couple of other merinos (Teko and another) and another wool (I think llama) and have stuck with these. I hike in trail runners with about 20-30lbs and these have served well on wet, 20 mile days with no blisters. Nice fit. Snug enough not to shift. Breath great. Yet to retire any. Also made in the USA.
These socks are extremely comfortable and durable. I have multiple pairs and wear them all the time. The only drawback is that the back of the sock, right at the heel crease, gets worn through over time and the fabric disintegrates. This is not a huge deal because it happens well into 6+ months of having them, but still happens.
these socks do exactly what they are made to do. dry feet are happy feet. wicks away the sweat, snug fit, no bunching, no quiting. after i ran with these i had to buy more. very comfy.
I like how they breath way well and keep your feet warm in the winter running season. I am a 10.5 and a Med. works great for me. This is also great for just hanging out around the house on a cold day.
These socks are great, on the comfort side, but if you run in wet conditions, the extra padding/cushioning at the toe and heel areas captures water and gets "spongy" and the sock becomes heavy.
These are great. wick very well compared to other woolsocks i've used (e.g. bridgedale). great to have a low rise sock for summer use that doesn't stink immediately. seem quite sturdy too.
Wicked comfortable high performance socks get rid of the sweat and the blisters. Great cushioning in the right areas and they're plenty light for summer trail running. Just as adept for wearing in the office as they are on a single track. It may sound shallow, but I don't know who was talking about these things being head turners. Out of the adrenaline series, these are definately the ugliest. Beige, seriously? Definately look dorky pairing these with my salomon XA comps while wearing shorts. Aesthetics aside, viva la smartwool
These are the best socks I've ever owned!!! They are extremely comfortable and hold up well after many washings. Not too thick or too thin. I wear them for walking and everyday use. I have the oatmeal; it's a great neutral color.
I use Smartwool socks all the time. They fit my size 15 foot well (XL size obviously). These socks are great for cycling: comfortable, nice fit, warm. Winner!
i love these socks. i have worn them for five months once a week on long runs from 15-31 miles. they are still in great shape and have never caused me problems. now if they would only get to 50% off again!
I initially bought these cuz they were on sale, but when I wore them. I had to buy a couple more pair even though they were more expensive. The extra padding in the heel and forefoot is awesome... I wear an 11.5 so I bought the L. They fit perfectly.
I bought three pair on a whim because I was wearing out my other running socks. I also have three pair of Under Armour running socks, which make my feet sweat grossly in comparison. I just picked up another three pair of the SmartWool because I liked them so much. I travel a lot for work, and now I take only two pair of these for a full week trip, rather then one pair per day and have had no problems (I love Merino wool). These things are incredible.
Terrific socks. I use them for workouts in the gym, running three miles/day and for all my other outdoor activities. Well worth the cost. Always dry and comfortable. The only sock to own if into outdoor activities.
Just received my Smartwool adrenaline light sock and am happy with its performance, especially with sweat management. I sweat a lot and found my thorlos got squishy toward the end of my run. The smartwools are thinner and seem to work so far; will continue to check out their performance on my runs.
I figured these would have a little more padding then they do. I know the description says that they are light and they are. But a bit to light for hiking.
I picked this sock because of its cushioning, the Adrenaline Light Mini Crews provide just the right amount of cushioning without making your feet feel smothered and you can still feel the trail with these babies. Worried about wearing wool during the warmer months? These socks are thin enough to stay comfortable when the temperature rises and don't worry about stream crossings, I've run for miles in these while wet without any blisters. They do take a while to dry, but that's why you bring extra socks on long trail runs! I'd suggest buying them in dark colors, mud never looks good on white!
SmartWool socks are the only socks I ever trail run in. They are solid even when your feet are wet. I have never gotten a blister while running in these socks. I sprained an arch and they provided super comfortable cushion and support in the arch.
It doesn't get much better than the SmartWool Adrenaline Light Mini Socks. Ok, sure they cost over $10 for a pair of socks, but for socks to have a lifetime warranty, its gotta turn heads. These socks have the perfect amount of thickness to provide good padding in the heel area as well as the ball of the foot. They are extremely comfortable, quick drying, and have left my feet blister free. They are great for running and hiking, and I haven't thought twice about buying another few pairs for myself.
Good socks. They provide good support and plenty of cushioning. So far I haven't gotten any blisters wearing these socks, even when they are soaked. I think these are a little heavy for hot runs, but they are bearable in the heat. These Smartwool socks are durable, I have had one pair for about a year and they are still running strong.
I love just wearing these day to day, cotton socks don't cut it after wearing these for a wile. Not saying you should, but you could wear them two days in a row, maybe more, they won't smell. They are snug, don't bunch or move, form fitting, and just really comfortable, great padding and friction reduction for hikes as well.
These socks rock! I wear them every day, and they are comfortable and durable, and keep sweaty feet dry. I like the thickness of these, not too thick, not too thin, and the height is nice too, gives you just enough coverage.
These were my favorite socks in the days before the SmartWool PhD socks and the Teko Eco Merinos came along. I used them for everything from trekking, more...
