What do you think about this product?

    Have questions about this product?

    surprised.

I am going to be honest, I was a little skeptical about ordering these, just from some of the reviews I had read on them. I have really liked these headphones and use them almost everyday. I workout with them and also wear them under my ski helmet.

The sound is decent and they seem to be holding up very well.

      broke after a few weeks

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Second pair of skull candy ear buds bought from backcountry. The left ear on both pairs stopped working after a few weeks. Don't know why I am just getting to this now or why I still have the broken buds but do yourself a favor and get some Sol earbuds or stick with the iphone earbuds, they are still going strong. The sound on the skull candy is great but it isnt worth only the right ear.

      Pretty average as headphones go.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love listening to music and comedy, when I found these I fell in love with the style. They just made listening to music more fun. Then I started to have some issues. The left bud went completely silent. Great. Later after that the right bud began to short circuit. Whenever I played music or listened to comedy it would sound like I had bad cell connection. I really liked them but I ended out throwing them out. All in all a good product but I don't want to listen to my mom in a tunnel.

I do like these as far as headphones go. I however have to trade them for a new pair every 3 months or so. Every single pair Skull Candy headphones I have owned has developed a short in the jack. I guess it could be user error. Either way; thank god for BC?s return policy!

Solid ear buds, could fit better.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use these buds almost every day at work. They stick in my ear pretty well and the sound quality is actually pretty great. If you're looking to put these buds under your helmet on the mountain; look elsewhere. The style of the buds is somewhat awkward, they fit weirdly under hats and hurt under a helmet. Over a couple hours my ears start to hurt a little bit, but I think that's the case for most ear buds.

Would give 5 stars for better controls on the mic.

      Worst Ear Buds Ever

I'm going to resist writing this review in ALL CAPS.

These things suck. Like, really suck. You're better off singing to yourself while being active than actually expecting these things to stay in your ear. The slightest movement will bump these things out of your ears, so unless you're sitting at your computer your better off with something else.

Also, the ear bud covers tend to fall off and disappear and you're left with the not-so-ear-friendly plastic piece. Completely uncomfortable and even more difficult to stay in your ear.

Finally, after about two weeks of use the left ear bud went completely silent on me. Sweet. But at least now I only have the ear bud constantly falling out of one of my ears.

Bottom line, you're better off with a pair of gratis headphones from the airlines than these POS.

          Still bomber

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Picked up another pair this year, and they're still my favorite earbuds- shredding, around campus, pretty much anything. I wish that they still made them with the nylon cord, but the flat cord is still pretty legit. The sounds quality is amazing, and it's super handy to be able to adjust the volume, play/pause, and skip songs on the cord without having to mess with the music device itself. Makes them awesome for shredding!

Skullcandy is still crushing it with these, go pick up your own pair!

            Really disappointed

            • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was looking forward to getting these as I've heard great things about Skullcandy. Unfortunately they were a huge disappointment. The general sound quality is almost as good as my other pair of lower-priced earbuds. They are very comfy when sitting around. Start moving though and you get all sorts of horrible banging noises from the cord and they start to fall out. I think one of the biggest problems is the mic/remote is on the left-ear-cord; so they get to swinging really bad. (My other earbuds have the buttons on the main cord so they just hang straight down and barely swing at all.) Wore them on a run and ended up having to hold them the whole time. Then tried them while just walking in town and they stayed in but still had all the banging noise coming from the cords hitting my jacket. General quality seems OK. Because they're comfy and sound OK when not moving and I got them for super cheap, I'll probably just use them in the office and keep using my other ones for when I'm moving. Not what I expected for a brand aimed at the active crowd!

Wonderful sound - control button issues

            • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These headphones sound wonderful, but the control button does not work very well if you have a music player and the Amazon Cloud Player on your phone. Trying to control the music player turns on the Amazon Cloud player and vice versa. It could be because I have an older phone (Droid Eris), but I am going to forgo the control button for everything but volume.

            The usual

I use alot of different kinds of headphones. These are my go to headphones for working out and trail runs. They stay in, sound good, and don't cost much. The newer flat style cables don't tangle as much as the older styles did.

              Fantastic buds for the price

Good Sound, decent fit, haven't noticed any thumping noises from the cable while exercising with them. The smart phone controls didn't work with my iPhone 3G, but work fine with my iPhone 4.

                Preferred ear buds

I have used a few different styles of ear buds from Skullcandy and other brands. I had issues with the Smokin Ear Buds falling out when running or climbing but these 50/50's have worked great. The sound is awesome and having the microphone and quick answer option is very convenient when snowboarding or running.

how comfortable are these after hours of charging the park? i want something comfortable that i can wear shredding.
